PRINCIPAL’S CORNER Who We Are in Christ “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light”—1 Peter 2:9 Identity. To me, it is the number one thing that the enemy tries to steal from us. If Satan can distort who we truly are, then he can get at anything in our lives. Think about it. I am who I believe I am and I will play the part of where my faith lies. If I believe that I am good at something, then I am going to excel at it. And if I don’t, then I’m going to fail at it or not even try. It is that simple. The enemy knows who we have become in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that he cannot separate us from the love of God once we are saved. However, if he can mess with who we are in Him (i.e. our identity in Christ), then he will be in our head on a daily basis harassing us. This is why we must be in the Word of God daily. The Scriptures not only tell us who we are in Christ, they declare it! Just look at these words spoken in 1 Peter 2:9: YOU are a chosen people, YOU are a royal priesthood, YOU are a holy nation, YOU are God’s special possession. When we come to know how God sees us through Christ every day, then we are going to know our identity, we will embrace our identity, and then we will live our identity to its fullest for the purpose of “declaring the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” Do we now understand why the enemy wants to distort this biblical truth? You see, if we truly live in our identity in Jesus Christ, then others will come to know Him and be saved! The enemy does not want this! He lost us to the Lord and now he does not want to lose anyone else from the grips of hell. The enemy will fight the salvation outcome through Jesus Christ at all costs; therefore putting disciples of Christ that live as 1 Peter 2:9 declares, in the crosshairs of his harassment. This is why daily Bible reading is so critical for us as Christians. When we read the Bible, it tells us who we are as believers. But, many times, instead of turning to the Word to tell us who we are, we turn to people, our work, our economic status, or more recently in 2020, the daily headlines. Fear is a big motivator towards control. And If someone can load you with fear by telling you what you are not everyday, then you are eventually going to believe it and be controlled by that false identity. Our nation has been in a crisis for quite some time . . . not a pandemic crisis, not a political crisis, but a spiritual crisis of our identity in the One that declares who we are in Him: Chosen! Royalty! Holy! Special! And when we live our true identity, as stated in the Bible, then we will let our light shine into a dark world and be unstoppable for the Kingdom! At Grace Christian Academy, we strive towards understanding who we are in Christ on a daily basis so that we can walk in victory every day. Our mission of discipling towards leaving a legacy of walking with Christ is not taken lightly, as we go to the Word daily to read and confidently know the promises that God declares about us in Christ Jesus. Rather than listening to the world or the enemy telling us who we are, we choose to listen to the Holy Word. Upon that foundation, the enemy cannot touch us and the world will not stop us from shining light into the darkness. So turn the TV and social media off and pick up the Bible. Leave the lies and deception of the enemy in cyberspace and embrace the Truth and the One that created you. You will not just be blessed, but you will boldly declare who you are and continue to “Leave a Legacy of Walking with Christ!” Jeremie M. Johnson Head Administrator
Thankful, Grateful & Blessed It was such a blessing to have our full first semester held at GCA in-person! God has continually blessed us and has constantly provided for us in every way. We are grateful for His amazing and generous blessings! In November, students and staff were able to be together to celebrate our thankfulness at our annual GCA Thanksgiving Meal. Thanks be to God! In a recent skit during morning Chapel, upper level girls portrayed the Bible story of the “ten” bridesmaids. The wise bridesmaids (right) had taken extra lamp oil and were ready when the groom arrived. The other bridesmaids had to leave to get more oil and missed the groom altogether. The story, of course, was symbolic of Jesus’s return. Let’s all be ready when He come back!

First Semester Fundraisers First semester fundraisers looked a little different than our “normal” this school year. We decided against our annual Cookie Walk, but ran a Cookie Dough Sale in September and October, followed by a Chili Sale on opening weekend of deer hunting, in November. Both sales were a success and were able to raise the funds GCA needed. God is our Provider and He is good! Thank you to all who were involved and for those of you who gave us your orders! Praises & Prayer Needs… * Praises that God has provided more rental space for GCA, as of March 1st, that is very needed due to recent additions to our student body. * Prayers for God’s continued leading in finding a new building to call “home”, as the school body continues to grow. * Continued prayers for our state’s leadership and for our school to be allowed to stay open through the remainder of this school year. * Prayers for the continued health and well-being of GCA families, staff & supporters, as winter is now in full-swing!
