FEATURE GATEWAY Special Request from the Executive Director Board of Directors With our kitchen now reopened for dine-in lunches, I’d like to discuss some family business with you, our Gateway family. We are sensing God’s leading to get Ford Mosby more hands on with the people who come in for lunch and to grow our New Life President Program. I am praying that God will give us the eyes to see and the heart to feel what He sees and feels among the people who come our way. Beth Archer We are also currently making upgrades to our shelter and looking at ways to Vice President enhance our New Life Program. We are in a season of seeking God as to how He would have us grow into the future. Jackie Meck With this in mind, we are in the initial stages of adding some strategic positions Secretary on our staff. We are praying that God will call a few select people to join our Gateway team. Particularly, we are searching for someone to help with donor Vivian Farris relations and donor ministry. This position requires someone who is gifted in Treasurer ministering to donors and also able to coordinate fundraising efforts. We are also looking for a God-called case manager to help with daily ministry Donna Bruce at Gateway. If you know of anyone who might be a fit for either of these positions, please contact us at rbaker@gatewaymission.org. Glen Bush A note about ministry at Gateway. This is a rewarding, but challenging work. Rescue ministry is not for everyone. We are not looking for someone who merely Danny Cawthon wants a job. We are looking for people who are called to Gateway Rescue Mission. If you are only looking for a job, you won’t cut it here. Allen Holiman When the going gets tough, what sustains you in ministry at Gateway is the knowledge that you were called here by the Lord God. If you aren’t fi rst and Ben Moncrief foremost called here by God, you won’t be content. If you or someone you know feels the Lord’s calling to work among the homeless, the dirty, the addicted, the Vernon Perry mentally ill, and the hopeless, please reach out to us. I still believe Gateway is the type of place Jesus would come to minister if He walked this earth today. Marilyn Tinnin If you don’t know anyone who fits this bill, please pray that God will raise up such people to minister at Gateway Rescue Mission. 328 S. Gallatin Street P.O. Meanwhile, our New Life Program is humming along. The guys recently posed for a photo before a recovery class. They also visited the Civil Rights Museum in Jackson a few weeks ago. It’s encouraging to see our men growing and taking on the call to help others. As 2021 is now coming to a close, we wish to thank all of you for your support and prayers this year. We may be living in crazy times. However, God is not through using us at Gateway Rescue Mission. He’s not through using you either.
