11441 HAGUE RD, FISHERS, IN 46038 | ( 3 1 7 ) 8 4 2 - 6 7 7 8 | w w w . s l d m f i s hers.org January 22, 2023 — The Third Sunday in Ordinary Time From the Desk of Father Haan Why I Give Today I am not only inviting you to spend some time this week praying and discerning what you can pledge to our annual St. Louis de Montfort parish stewardship renewal and the annual diocesan Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA)…I will also be discerning my pledges, as well. I have set up a recurring monthly online gift to the parish through our parish website, and I just recently set up a similar “sustained giving” option for the CMA. That way it’s automatic and I won’t risk forgetting future gifts! Both our parish stewardship renewal and the diocesan CMA are crucial for our parish to live Christ’s call to make disciples here in central Indiana. St. Louis de Montfort is an incredible place, as lives are transformed daily by God’s grace at our parish. Whether it is through our beautiful liturgies, youth ministry programs, adult for- mation offerings, CRHP retreats, our wonderful school, or our perpetual adoration chapel, people come to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ here. And our wider community experiences the love of Christ through our tremen- dous outreach efforts. Because you are generous with the resources you’ve been blessed with, our parish staff is equipped with what they need to do the incredible work they’ve been called to. But I hope you know that supporting the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana is critical, as well: so much of the es- sential work of the parish cannot be done without diocesan support. Gifts to the Catholic Ministries Appeal go to such things as seminarian formation and vocations, clergy ongoing formation and support, permanent diaconate, Catholic schools, the marriage tribunal, and the Saint Joseph Retreat Center in Tipton. We can’t do our great work without these realities! I’m blessed to witness graced moments on our campus on a daily basis, and I’m confident you regularly witness them as well. All that happens here: the healing, the love, the transformation, the hope… these are all reasons why I give. This week, please pray, and discern how you can generously support both of these campaigns. I’m so grateful for your daily witness of faith and your commitment to the mission. God bless you! Under the Mercy, Father Haan

This tran- sition will occur slowly over the next few years, as we move toward CGS a grade level at a time. CGS is a hands-on reli- gious education program, designed to pull forth the child’s natural desire to know and love God. The heart of this pro- gram for the 3–6-year-old child is to know Jesus as the Good Shepherd, and to discover the joy of God’s love for us. For more information on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and to register for PreK - 5th grade Religious Education, please visit our parish website and look under the ‘STUDY’ tab.
