HONOR GUARD MSgt Ellis Coley, Program Manager Bldg. 364 • Mon. - Fri. 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. DSN 468-9775 | 478-926-9775 Professional Profile: SrA Layanah Robinson Place of Birth: Orange, New Jersey Air Force Experience: 3 years & 8 months Unit of Assignment: 461 OSS/IN SrA Layanah Robinson What does being an Honor Guard member mean to you? To me, being an Honor Guard member means just what the charge says; standing “sharp, crisp and motionless” as I honor those who served before me. How has the Honor Guard affected you? I would have to say that the Honor Guard has affected me in a positive way. The Honor Guard makes me look at life in a different light and to be appreciative of those you love because you never know what tomorrow holds. The Honor Guard has also put the fire back in me to re-instill those core values in me. What do you feel you have to offer the Honor Guard? I feel that I have to offer the Honor Guard my discipline as well as my core values which I feel I embody well. I can pass those on to the Airmen after me. What are your goals in the Air Force? My current goals in the Air Force is to accomplish a Bachelor's degree while still accomplishing the mission and giving all that I can to my everyday job. What is your favorite saying/motto? My favorite saying would have to be, “To try is to fail.” which my coach would always say to us. You don't try, you get it done. Who is the person you most respect and why? I most respect my mother because ever since I can remember she has been a go-getter. She wants what is best for my siblings and me, so I try to have the same go-getter mentality as a role model for my younger siblings.
