Nippers 2019/20 Continues! A big thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who are helping make Bancoora Nippers a great and fun event. The Committee thanks our Nippers coordinator Craig Sherman for all the work that happens behind the scenes to make Nippers successful and to all those parents and friends who have volunteered their time for the benefit of their kids and for all Nippers and Mozzies participants and their families. Bancoora Beach during Nippers and Mozzies and it is a testament to all our water safety officers, coaches and age group managers as to how well our junior members are handling larger surf. No Nippers, Mozzies or Young The Committee would also like to thank those patrolling members who officially patrol the beach on the Sundays Guns – Australia Day Weekend when Nippers is on. The beach is extremely busy and many of our patrolling members take part in Nippers water safety, We’d like to remind all members that there are no official first aid and of course patrol duties. Interim Patrol Hours Ladder at 31 December 2019 for Season 2019/20 A few members have asked about who is doing lots of hours of patrol this season. Thanks to our illustrious Club Captain Rowan Jobling, Rowan has done the numbers for the period ended 31 December 2019. It looks like we will have some members doing over 100 hours of patrol again this season if they keep up this pace. We also thank those members who travel back to Bancoora to do their patrol at Bancoora Beach. Missing Scooter Incident! BB: What did you get most from attending the camp? TPW: The camp was in early December at Anglehook Camp in Aireys Inlet. I met young leaders from a diverse range of clubs around Victoria who all gathered to learn new skills and develop a young leader’s network. BB: How did you hear about the camp? LSV Audit of Bancoora On 12 January the club was paid an impromptu visit by one of LSV’s assessors to do a spot-check on the effectiveness of Bancoora’s Patrol members. LSV performs these assessments to provide feedback to Victorian clubs and highlight areas where clubs can improve their patrol performance. The Committee would like to thank the professionalism and knowledge of patrol captains Michael Peel and Andrew Hunt of Patrol 2 on their leadership throughout the assessment. More details will be provided to members once the final report is received from LSV however some preliminary feedback included: • Patrol members to have fully supplied bub-bags on patrol Bancoora Patrol 2 with LSV Assessor.
