February 2022

Dear Scouters and Youth:

After two years with Covid, we are indeed back! Our last one was the weekend before Covid hit in
2020!

The University of Scouting Committee welcomes you once again to our biggest training event of the
year!

For the first time ever for University of Scouting, we are moving entirely to online for both registration
and payment. The event fee continues to remain $10; however, please take note there are fees for
registering late. See further details in this packet.

Training Policy is in effective for all Adult Leaders in Pack and Troop level. The University offers a
face to face training as a great opportunity over online training. Face to face credit will be given in
lieu of online. As always, Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader!

Our council is in dire need for more Scouters for the following:
               Trainers, Trainers, Trainers!
               Merit Badge Counselors;
               STEM Counselors/Mentors.

I cannot stress enough about Trainers. Same goes for Merit Badge Counselors and STEM
Counselors/Mentors. We always never have enough.

If you have any questions regarding the above information or anything else, please do not hesitate to
contact me directly. My email address is jrbeiter@rochester.rr.com. All other matters, see Point of
Contact below.

So, please consider joining us at the event. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Yours in Scouting,

John Beiter
Council Training Chair
University of Scouting Chair
Iroquois Trail Council 2022 University of Scouting
General Information
Each period is 50 minutes long with a 10-minute break in between except for courses with multiple
periods. See Schedule inside this packet.

Be sure to check out the Degree sheet whether you are a first timer or repeat registrant. The
requirements are pretty specific. You may select one providing qualification is met. If you are not
quite sure, please send us an email. The 2023 University of Scouting Committee will look into
providing more advance, higher level degree for 2023. Stay tuned for that.

Please have cell phones turned off and blue tooth put away for all sessions except for Lunch
Break as a courtesy. A Scout is Courteous.

There will be a 45-minute lunch break. We will offer a $7 lunch for those who pre-order it via
online registration system. This is optional as you may pack your own lunch or make other
arrangements. A Subway Boxed Lunch consists of a sandwich (ham or turkey), choice of a bag of
chips or a cookie and either a soda or water.

Registration Costs and Deadlines
Everything is now handled entirely online. Please do not call the council office and ask them to
register for you. If you have difficulty to registering online, visit the tutorial first and more on that
below. Do not hesitate to drop an email if difficulty persists. We’re here to assist you.
    $10 – Regular registration, deadline Wednesday March 2nd 11pm.
    $20 – Late registration, Wednesday March 2nd 11:01pm to Wednesday March 9th 11:00pm.
Note: You still have last chance to order lunch.
    $30 – “Walk-in” registration, Wednesday March 9th 11:01pm to Saturday March 12th 8am.
Note: No lunch is available. In addition, no guarantee of handouts will be on hand.

Registration:
 Registration: Find the link the Iroquois Trail Council website www.itcbsa.org to register.
Follow the prompts to register and pay; the site will let you know if something is not filled in
and will not let you continue without it. If you're having trouble, please watch the
informational YouTube video (https://tinyurl.com/2p9vzskj) on how to Register (Part 1) and
Pay (Part 2). The videos are quick and easy to follow. We recommend printing out the
schedule to assist in making your course selections.

For Subway lunch selection, check off boxes. If you were to register without lunch and
paid, you can come back to registration again to order lunch with a new payment to be
made. Upon submission, you will receive date/time stamped confirmation to your email
           address.

 Payment: Online payment is now offered. Upon completion of your registration and lunch
if selected, the system will automatically take you to the secured payment link. No longer
the need to mail in your payment or calling the council office with your credit/debit card
           information.

Once registered, you have the ability to go back to add/drop and update your course list any time.
Likewise for your lunch. However, payment will be already processed. Last day to make any
changes will be Wednesday March 2nd at 11:00pm. At that point, your registration and lunch both
become final.
Iroquois Trail Council 2022 University of Scouting
Note to Units: There is no longer the option to register as a unit due to system design limitations. All
registrations are individualized.

$5 fee is for AoL Parents who are non-registered with Boy Scouts of America. Same fee applies to
new Parents who are also non-registered as well. Take all courses in the New Parents to Scout BSA
track that is being offered, see What’s New page below. A day of learning really goes a long way!!
We are asking all Pack units to let their parents know about this amazing opportunity.
