Welcome at HAW Hamburg.

We are happy that we are allowed to have our international welcome weeks
again.

This week almost all events are open for international students and buddies
except the museum and the Dialogue in the Dark tours. Those are sponso-
red for international students by the German Academic Exchange Service
(DAAD). Please make sure you only sign up for a tour if you can really par-
ticipate or let us know at least 48 hours in advance if you have to cancel so
we can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list.

Meet&Greet
This is the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow students
from all over the world. Each of you will be part of a Meet & Greet
group led by two peer tutors. Once you have registered your tutors
will let you know where your group meets.

Scavenger Hunt
You and your team will be exploring parts of the city in your quest for
clues. Find the right answers to the questions and take up the photo
challenges. Teams are formed in your Meet & Greet groups on Monday.

Bowling
We meet at US Fun Bowling and will be 6 players per lane. The total cost
of this event is 12 euros including two hours of Bowling and the shoes.
The amount is payable via Paypal after registration.

Managing formalities                                   (online)
How to register your address, how to separate garbage without getting a
fine, how to download an Immatrikulationsbescheinigung – we will give
you these and many other survival tips for your studies at HAW Ham-
burg.

KulturCafé
Come to the culture cafe, enjoy lively discus-
sions, play games and make new friends.
Each week our lovely peer tutors will prepare
a great schedule of activities for you. Watch
out for our postcard advertising this semes-
ter’s programme.

1000 years Hamburg
We will visit Hamburg‘s history museum and find out how the city de-
veloped from the 9th century until today. The number of participants is
limited to 10 people per tour, so your registration is binding. There are
German and English tours. Make sure you pick the right one.

Dialogue in the
              ES Dark

Your blind host will guide your group through a completely darkened
exhibition. Equipped with a blind cane, you discover the world that we
usually take for granted in a completely new way. Hear, feel and find your
bearings in various situations of daily life. The number of participants is
limited to 8 people per tour, so your registration is binding. There are Ger-
man and English tours. Make sure you pick the right one.

Bonfire night
Meet your tutors at Elbstrand for a bonfire and bring a beer, some grill
food if you want and a blanket. We will provide some small snacks as
well. Instruments and games of any kind are also welcome.

Wildpark Schwarze Berge
Join us for a stroll in the game park (a woodland area where wild animals
live). You can see bears, elks and even wolves and if you are lucky you
can stroke some baby goats. The park also has a lookout point with a
spectacular view of the surrounding nature and the Elbe river.

Kletterpark Hanserock
Join us for an afternoon in the high ropes course. For this activity you
should be physically fit and must not be afraid of heights. The total cost
of this event is 14 euros. The amount is payable after registration via
Paypal.
