PINK SHIRT DAY!! • Don’t forget to wear your pink shirt because today, Wednesday, February 23rd is Pink Shirt Day. Assemblies will be held in the auditorium for Cycle 1 students. The grade 7 assembly will take place during Period 2 (8:50 am) and the grade 8 assembly will follow during Period 3 (9:55 am). • For any staff members who did not receive a Pink Shirt last year, please pass by the main office to pick one up! • Also, a representative from Home and School will be selling Pink Toques for 2 dollars in the main lobby during both Junior and Senior lunches. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Black History Month • Throughout the month of February we will be celebrating Black History Month. This will give us the chance to look at many notable and influential Black Canadians and Americans and their wonderful accomplishments throughout the years.
Juanita Westmoreland-Traoré • Westmoreland-Traoré is the first African Canadian appointed judge in the history of Quebec. She also holds the distinction of being the first African Canadian law dean after her 1996 appointment at the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor.
Green Team • There will be an important meeting for all grade 7,8 & 9 Green Team members today during junior lunch in room 285. • The meeting for cycle 2 members will take place on Thursday February 24th during senior lunch, in room 234.
Drumline • Drumline practice on Thursday, Feb. 24th • Don't forget your ear plugs!
Chess Club • Are you a grade 7, 8 or 9 student that enjoys playing chess? If so, we will be starting a chess club on Day 5s during junior lunch. We’ll be starting up after March break. Stay tuned for more info to come!

LGBTQ2+ : Mondays after school Homework Program: Monday to Thursday after school Cooking: Wednesday and Friday after school Extra Cooking Club members, please see Ms. Shaina today in room 318 during your lunch hour. Curricular Diversity Club: Thursday after school Movie Club: Last Friday of every Month Activities Arts and Crafts Club: Fridays after school Boxing and Strength and Conditioning Clubs have started up again for the Monday and Wednesday group and Tuesday and Thursday group. Virtual Job Fair • Virtual Job Fair hosted by Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de l'Ouest-de-l'Ile & Lachine • The Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de l'Ouest-de-l'Ile and Lachine will be hosting a virtual job fair Thursday March 3rd at 1:30 pm for students aged 16 years and older looking for a summer job. Several employers will be present and there will be many job opportunities for students! Post-Secondary Applications • To all sec 5s -please note that CEGEP applications are now open. They are NOT first come, first serve. The deadline is March 1st. Applications for vocational training are currently open and vary by start date. • Your Guidance Counsellors are available via email or by appointment, to answer any questions you may have. Please email us to book an appointment. Please note that we will be prioritizing appointments with students who have yet to book an appointment with us. • We have also created 2 handouts with some helpful info (e.g., winter open house dates, career & education fair, guidelines for applying, admission contacts, etc.) - please see the St. Thomas Guidance File on ManageBac for details!
