2021
Thank you for your interest in SAS Rugby’s International Camp. Please find more information below as well
as what you will receive should you decide to attend the Camp.
ABOUT US
The SAS Rugby International Camp is a 3-week high performance position specific camp
that develops young rugby talent from across the world. We are located at the Stellenbosch
Academy of Sport in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
JACQUES HANEKOM ERNST JOUBERT CORNE UYS NEIL DE KOCK
Jacques is the founder and Ernst represented the Lions As a player Corné Neil represented and
former CEO of the Western and earned 161 caps for represented the Stormers, captained Western Province
Province Institute, while he Saracens. Ernst also Cheetahs, Newcastle and Stormers. He earned 10
has also acted as Consultant captained both the Lions and Falcons, Sale Sharks and Aix- caps for the Springboks

CAMP OVERVIEW SOUTH AFRICAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
ü Individual positional coaching SAS Rugby is located in Stellenbosch, the
ü General skills coaching proverbial home of rugby in South Africa, with a
ü Video analysis rich history of the sport embedded in the town.
ü High performance conditioning
ü Strength and fitness testing Apart from rugby, we are located within a 20
ü Progress reports and feedback on specific minute drive from the beach, and a one hour
player focus areas drive from the world famous Table Mountain.
ü Prehab and rehabilitation sessions &
education Cultural trips will include an outing to Cape
ü Nutrition talk and education Town and Table Mountain, a group hike, as well
ü Goal setting and mental skills as visiting local tourist attractions.
ü Rugby law test and feedback sessions

Starting date: 18 July 2021
Finishing date: 7 August 2021
PROGRAMME COST
R 42,000 (approximately $ 2,545 | € 2,153)

MEDICAL
All players must have a Medical Aid/Medical Insurance when the camp starts. SAS Rugby will recommend a
medical aid package for all foreign players. Strapping and physiotherapy services are included in the camp.

VENUE AND FACILITIES
SAS Rugby International Camp is based at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS), a professional sports
training and preparation environment for teams and athletes from across the world.
MEALS
Daily nutritional meals specially catered for high performance
athletes, provided at the SAS restaurant.
ROOMS
Each room will have the following:
ü Two single beds per room
ü Duvet & cover with fitted sheets
ü Two pillows per bed
ü One towel per player

Official home of the Springbok Men’s 7s and Women’s 7s, the SA 7s Academy
and Springbok U20 Academy. SAS is also a training venue used by the
Springboks Men’s and Women’s XV, Junior Springboks and SA U18 Teams.
