Year 10 PE and MFL Trip to Madrid Friday 25 – Tuesday 29 October 2019 This presentation will be on the school web site from 7pm tonight. Committed to Achievement
Why are we doing this trip? • To give students a sporting and cultural opportunity they might not otherwise get • Students learn to work together as a team • An amazing and memorable experience Committed to Achievement
Accommodation • We will be staying at the Hotel Amura Alcobendas • Separate male and female rooms • Students are NOT allowed in each others rooms • Staff will be located on the same floors Committed to Achievement
Day 1 – Friday 25 October 2019 4.25am Arrive at school Passport/EHICH check, load coach and depart for Heathrow (no chewing gum, nuts or chocolate on the coach or mini-bus) 5.15am Arrive at Heathrow T5 and check in 7.20am Flight departs (BA0458) (arrives 10.55am) 11.30am Coach transfer to Hotel and free time to explore surroundings 1.40pm Coach to Ciudad Real Madrid Valdebebas Committed to Achievement
Day 1 – cont. 2.30pm Training Session 1: Real Madrid Academy coaches 5.00pm Return to hotel Evening meal at hotel Evening Activity - TBC Committed to Achievement
Day 2 – Saturday 26 October 2019 8.30am Breakfast 9.15am Depart for Ciudad Real Madrid 10.00am Training Session 2: Real Madrid Academy coaches 12.30pm Lunch at Ciudad Real Madrid Cafeteria 1.00pm Coach transfer to Madrid City Centre Return to hotel for evening meal Evening Activity - TBC Committed to Achievement
Day 3 – Sunday 27 October 2019 8.30am Breakfast 9.15am Depart for Ciudad Real Madrid 10.00am Training Session 3: Real Madrid Academy coaches 12.30pm Lunch at Ciudad Real Madrid Cafeteria 1.00pm Return to hotel for free time Afternoon Transfer to fixture venue 2 friendly fixtures vs local opposition (TBC) Return to hotel for evening meal Evening Activity - TBC Committed to Achievement
Day 4 – Monday 28 October 2019 8.15am Breakfast 9.00am Depart for Ciudad Real Madrid 10.00am Training Session 4: Real Madrid Academy coaches 12.30pm Lunch at Ciudad Real Madrid Cafeteria 1.00pm Return to hotel for free time Afternoon Transfer to fixture venue 2 friendly fixtures vs EMF Algete Return to hotel for evening meal Evening Activity - TBC Committed to Achievement
Day 5 – Tuesday 29 October 2019 9.00am Breakfast and check out 10.30am Coach departs for Madrid City Centre by Museo del Prado 1.30pm Lunch at Café Topolino 3.20pm Coach transfer to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for stadium tour (including visit to official merchandise store) 6.30pm Coach transfer to Madrid-Barajas Airport 8.55pm Flight departs – Flight Number BA0465 10.10pm Flight arrives Heathrow (T5) 22:10 11.15pm Arrive back to Cox Green School (approx.) Committed to Achievement
Spending Money/Valuables • Students will hold onto their own spending money. Money to be exchanged before the trip departs. • Students are advised against taking any valuable items. Lost or stolen items cannot be replaced by the school • Due to the nature of activities – NO JEWELLERY (necklaces, earrings/piercings, watches etc.) • As per school policy, NO MOBILE PHONES Committed to Achievement
What to take? • Toiletries • Night wear • Towel for training days (hotel towels must not leave the hotel) • Sun cream and hat • Rain coat • Bag for wet/dirty clothing and shoes Please ensure everything is labelled. Students must be able to carry their own luggage. DON’T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT AND EHIC!!! Committed to Achievement

Emergency details • Check your personal contact details sheet is accurate • These are the details used should we need to contact you • Please clearly mark any amendments and return to Mrs Feetham, by Monday 14 September 2019, (this coming Monday) or hand in now before you leave Committed to Achievement
Medicines • Complete ‘Residential Trip – Medicine Form’ for any medication your child will require during the time of this trip • Any medication (prescribed or over the counter) is to be handed in to Mrs Feetham on Tuesday 22 October in original boxes and clearly labelled with your child's name – only provide enough medication for the duration of this trip • Students are NOT to carry any medication (either prescribed or over the counter), the only exception is asthma inhalers or Epipens (please complete form if this applies) • Trip Leader will hold onto medication listed on the residential medicine form and dispense as required Committed to Achievement
