Treasurer’s Report The state currently owes D155 more than $900,000 in mandated state quarterly reimbursements. Fortunately, at this time General State Aid continues to be paid twice a month. Year 2015 Tax Levy The Board of Education voted (5-1-1) to approve a flat tax levy for 2015. This flat tax levy is estimated to save D155 taxpayers a collective $775,000 in today’s dollars every year moving forward. This amounts to a $2.4 million savings to taxpayers in just three years and almost $4 million over the next five years. Boundary & Enrollment Superintendent Dr. Johnnie Thomas presented a summary of the Kasarda Demographics Study. The study projects enrollment for CHSD155 at 5,689 students for the 2020-2021 school year. Nearly 6,500 students are currently enrolled in D155. This enrollment is due to declining enrollment in feeder districts. In summary, District 155 will see a significant drop in enrollment over the next ten years. District administration will continue to analyze the report and projections.
