Our specialist teams focus on supporting all business areas including Front Office activities, and the Operations, Finance, Risk, Regulatory, Compliance and Data Office departments. The wide range of functions within ISD includes project management, infrastructure changes, vendor systems integration and application monitoring. ISD development includes all aspects of the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to development and support. About the Role The role will provide you with the opportunity to work on global projects and implement leading-edge technologies which will transform how our organisation operates. As a graduate you will be given the chance to learn about the ISD strategic direction of the organisation, along with the opportunity to develop your own areas of expertise. Learning from our highly skilled team members, you will be exposed to the day to day workings of the business from day one. As a graduate developer in the ESB team you will be working on integration solutions built on software underpinning the global architecture backbone for data orchestration and systems integration within Mizuho. You will work on a range of tasks from small development enhancements through to global end to end implementations delivered within an agile SDLC framework provisioning critical 24/7 services. Development is based on DevOps focusing around a highly robust, distributed micro-services architecture running in the Docker/Kubernetes space. The software platforms are a mixture of vendor and Open Source platforms – one Open Source platform which we created and continue to drive forward with leading edge technologies. There will be a mixture of individual and team-based work, with suitable mentors and technical leads to help you grow in this role. The ESB team is a dynamic and fast paced environment, where you will learn technical skills alongside product and business knowledge. Specific tasks and responsibilities include Develop software, delivering to agreed requirements, using an agile delivery process and adhering to ISD standards for Documentation, System Testing, User Acceptance testing, and Change Control. Keep close communication with technical architects within ISD leveraging reusable software to facilitate time-to-market where ever possible. Functional Requirements: with assistance, gather, understand, and analyse functional requirements directly from key stakeholders. Production Support: Provide support for any implemented solutions including incident, problem, and defect management, and appropriately cross train other members within ISD so that they are able to support the solutions. This may require working shifts and/or being on-call out of normal working hours.

What will I do? The graduate programme will run for a year September 2018 – September 2019, and will include exposure to a wide range of stakeholders. Each graduate will be given our full support and will be allocated a Buddy throughout the scheme. Training and development sessions will run during the programme, from specific and relevant financial product training to sessions with senior management and bespoke soft skills development. What do I need? Aspiring candidates would be expected to demonstrate the following qualities skills/knowledge/qualities: Ability to analyse data in a rigorous and disciplined fashion showing excellent attention to detail. An attitude of continuous self-improvement which may include further study towards professional qualifications relevant to the role. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science related subject, Mathematics or Engineering. Demonstrable experience of software development, through study and/or work experience Proven track record of programming in a recognised mainstream language such as C#, Java or C++ Technical analysis and investigatory skills. The Finance IT team is a dynamic and fast paced environment, where you will learn technical skills alongside product & business knowledge. These skills will be complimented with a broader knowledge gained via collaboration with other technical and business teams involved in projects that you will work on. Specific tasks and responsibilities include: Develop software, delivering to agreed requirements, using an agile delivery process and adhering to ISD standards for Documentation, System Testing, User Acceptance testing, and Change Control.
