Today we discover West Iceland, where some of Iceland’s best- known Sagas took place. Heading out of Reykjavik, we drive through Borgarfjordur fjord towards Husafell. On the way we‘ll make a stop at Deildartunguhver, hot spring, and the magnificent Hraunfossar lava waterfalls. We will also have the option of stopping at the Settlement Center museum see how Vikings made their perilous boat journeys to Iceland. The adventure of the day will be caving at Viðgelmir cave. Once at the cave, we start an adventurous and guided walk down the great, col- orful and beautiful lava cave. Learn about its history and geological uniqueness which dates all the way back to the Viking age. Vidgelmir is Iceland’s largest natural lava cave, located in West Iceland. This day offers a visit to Rovaniemi started with an orientation panoramic tour and continues with a visit to Santa Claus village for a rendezvous with Santa at the Santa Claus office. Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland area and is best known as the home of Santa Claus. The tour continues in the afternoon heading to Ounasvaara hill – a great place for photography lovers!
