Dear All, Welcome to our County Handbook and Directory for 2019 detailing our County events and activities for you and your girls. We do hope that you enjoy the events that we have on offer and that you will share them with your girls. 2018 was a busy year. Brownies enjoyed the Bounce camp, leaders and girls travelled to Sangam in India to experience a WAGGGS world centre and all sections enjoyed a day of “Go Wild” in April. Our guide sleepover event at Climbing the Walls and Go Jumpin was also well attended, and by request we have a Brownie day at both venues in the programme for 2019. In this year we have plans for a County campfire, afternoon tea at Lyneal and of course the Region event Megamix camp in August. There will also be two BP weekends in the calendar for all girls still working on the award. 2019 will see all units transition to the updated new programme for all sections and we will be continuing to support you with local trainings and lots of ideas to use with your girls. This is the last handbook that Pat and I will be producing as my role of County Commissioner ends in 2019. It has been a truly wonderful 5 years, thank you for everything that you do for the girls in your units and at all other levels in the County. You are a wonderful team and I have so many great memories of visiting your units, representing you and seeing the fun and friendships and adventures of your girls. So a big thank you, again, for everything that is happening in Shropshire. Girlguiding gives girls and young women so many opportunities and talking to our members it is wonderful to hear the things they are taking part in, the adventures they are having and the opportunities our adult volunteers give them, have a great year and enjoy your Guiding adventures! Yours in Guiding, Clare County Commissioner - Clare Shinton
