Editorial Dear Students Contents A warm welcome to the University of St.Gallen! 2 Editorial 7 Workshops on “Mirroring Authenticity” We have prepared a varied and interesting programme for your first few days at the HSG 3 Contents & Kick-off Events Overview 8 Kick-off Day 2: Introductory Programme and we hope it will help you to settle quickly and easily into the University and student life. We will start by presenting the University from its academic side. As part of this Academic 4 Introductory Note 9 Events around the Kick-off Days Programme, you will be joined by eminent keynote speakers, professors and lecturers at the HSG to examine a topical, socially and economically relevant issue. You can look forward to 5 Keynote Speakers 11 Additional Information in-depth discussions and active cooperation with your future fellow students, and at the end of the day we will round off with an award ceremony for the best project presentations, as 6 Kick-off Day 1: Academic Programme well as the traditional Kick-off Day drinks reception (more on pp. 4–7). On the second day, you will receive important information about organising your studies. You will find out how the University Library works, how to use the various IT tools, what components your degree course is made up of, what to bear in mind with regard to credit points, and where to find what at the University (see full programme on p. 8). Please re- member to bring along your official identity card on both days. For the introduction to the Kick-off Events Overview IT tools on the second day, you will also need your laptop, notebook, iPad or other mobile appliance with access to the internet.
