Home to the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law,
Downtown Memphis offers the best of both
worlds for law students. Those that choose to
live here can walk to class, easily meet up with
classmates, and experience all that Memphis
has to offer. As you can imaggine, the area is
lively and althugh a car is helpful it's not as
needed as it would be if you decided to live in
one of the surrounding neighborhoods. It can
be touristy at times, but that's to be expected
when living in the heart of Bluff City.

growing hub for Fortune 500 company offices.
Residents enjoy plenty of green space
including Shelby Farms Park, a large urban park
located at the end of Memphis’ 11-mile Shelby
Farms Greenway. With less than a 30-minute
drive Downtown, plenty of commuters take
advantage of the lower cost of living and enjoy
quieter evenings at home. Many East Memphis
residents are University of Memphis undergrad

Mud Island is a small peninsula located in the
Mississippi River just off the coast of
Downtown Memphis. Home to the iconic 50-ft
“MEMPHIS” sign, it is a popular spot for those
looking to see live music at the Mud Island
Amphitheater, visit the Mississippi River
Museum, or enjoy nature on the Mississippi
River Trail. The northern portion of Mud Island
(aka Harbor Town) is mostly residential with
single family homes and a few apartment
complexes catering to a younger crowd.
Residents enjoy a quick 0.5-mile walk, bike, or
scooter across the Skybridge to get Downtown.
