Welcome from the Chief Executive Welcome to our very ‘yellow edition ‘ of Team Talk, what a fantastic week we had celebrating Hospice Action week, a week where hospices up and down the country celebrate the valuable work that is undertaken and we give thanks to all those involved in making this happen. A special thanks to our staff and volunteers for supporting the week and dressing in yellow throughout the entire week. A big thank you to our patients who were also sporting yellow and were very creative, even planting yellow pansies as part of the craft sessions and a rendition of ‘yellow submarine’ sung in music therapy. Our volunteers and catering staff sported yellow aprons made for the occasion and served ‘yellow’ afternoon tea specials. With retail outlets connected through their yellow shop windows we had some very creative displays showcased- a truly great week for us all and some amazing donations from our local businesses and donors. Well done and thankyou everyone –it was great fun and a privilege to be a part of hospice care. It's half term with many staff enjoying some well-deserved holidays and our children’s party featured in this edition was a great idea of our new fundraising assistant Courtney Deans, thanks to Courtney and the fundraising team for hosting this enjoyable event attended by over 140 children and parents – the next generation of hospice supporters - how lovely is that! Best wishes Karen Griffiths
Hospice Action Week 2021 We celebrated #HospiceActionWeek this month and turned North Lincolnshire yellow in support Hospice UK’s national Hospice Care Week. Shops turned their windows yellow, yellow themed afternoon tea was served, aprons were made, awareness days held, yellow was worn and we even had a performance of Yellow Submarine from our Wellbeing patients, which you can view here. We held a cycle challenge in reception, which saw staff and volunteers bike miles to raise funds and awareness for Lindsey Lodge. We’d like to say a special thank you to Volunteer Jeff and Finance Assistant Bev Stanbridge for their fantastic contribution during the week. It was fantastic to see so much support throughout the week from the local community, our staff, volunteers and patients – a huge thank you to everyone for supporting our very first #HospiceActionWeek.
