EchucaStudent Primary of the Week Gayle Bedford Specialists School 5th September 2019 Issue 27 Assistant “A School withPrincipal Tradition and a Future” Arts Keeping Up to Date @ 208 The weather really put on a shine for our Fathers’ Day Sausage Sizzle. As you can see by the photos, it was a very successful day with a huge roll up of the significant men in our lives. Many thanks to our volunteers for cooking the snags. It is certainly a highlight on our calendar. EchucaRising PrimarySports Staradheres to Child Safe Standards and are compliant with DET Policies and Guidelines School Imagine you can! This is the aim of the Imagination Club which some of students have ben attending. I have accompanied them over the past few weeks to join in games with students from other schools. The Club Leader, Sally engages the students in many different games. Bus Stop below was one in which one student had to try to convince the other to leave the bus stop! Also, a group activity whereby they had to work out things they had in ‘common’ and ‘uncommon.’ There is lots of sharing of ideas and acceptance of each other. This morning I waved off our Grade 1’s to the Melbourne Zoo and the Grade 2’s to the Pioneer Settlement Camp at Swan Hill. Many parents reported their excitement and early rising for a change. These are valuable experiences for our students, which do take a great deal of organisation by our staff, which is very much appreciated. Thanks, also to our parent volunteers who support the teachers. We look forward to hearing of the activities on their return. Footy Fever is in the air! Staff are building up their team to challenge the Students. After a break from tradition last year, we are all geared up for a ‘grudge’ match. On the last day of Term (two weeks) SAT are organising Footy Clinic before lunch. Do not forget to put your Special lunch order in. There will also be a Staff Vs Student Netball game the day before. I may even dust off my netball skirt for this one! Isaiah’s visit on Tuesday was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute due to a one-off opportunity for him to work with an American music producer. The plan is for Isaiah to visit late this year or early in 2020. Stay tuned! Isaiah is embarking on his 50 Date Tour, performing at the Echuca Paramount of the 12 th October. There has been many engaging learning activities occurring at 208 over Term 3. You can keep informed through the Communication Notes & Facebook. The Grade Preps and Grade 1s will be showcasing their work in the last week of term. I am looking forward to that. Hoping the weather continues to warm up now that it is Spring. At least the daylight hours are getting longer and we can enjoy more time outdoors but at school in the yard we need to be SUNSMART and wear our broad-brimmed hats. Enjoy your weekend. Parent Forum This is a message form our School Council President, Rebecca Trevisan. Unfortunately, the Parent Forum scheduled for next Thursday 12th September will be postponed to a date early Term 4. School Council will decide on a new date at the next meeting, Monday 16th September. Apologies for the inconvenience.
