    EASTER ‘RISING’ CAKE DANCE...
In some parts of Ireland, a large cake dancing contest
called a pruthóg is held at Easter. The prize for the
best dancer is a cake, which they then divide between
the contestants as they see fit.

     Many families also take part
     in this tradition. Why not
     recreate this contest in
your home with an Easter ‘Rising’
twist? You’ll need to enlist the
help of an adult for this task. What you w

     INSTRUCTIONS
1 Draw three bilbys. Don’t forget to make them
        as colourful as you can!
2 Draw out at least 10 bilby paw prints and cut them out.
3 Hide your egg(s), making sure to make it as difficult
        as possible to find them.
4 On one of your bilby drawings, write a clue for where
your egg(s) are hidden. Then hide the bilby around your house.
5 The bilby is a bit mischievous, so on the other bilbies, write misleading
clues to throw your family off the scent! Then hide these bilbies also.
6 Scatter your paw prints close to your bilbies, so your family will
        be able to find them.
7 Get your whole family to start looking –
the first one to find the eggs is the winner!

draw several of these paw prints!

     For each colour you should:
1 Line a large baking sheet with paper towels, then top with a wire cooling rack.
2 Get an adult to help you boil some water.
3 In a small bowl, stir together ½ cup boiling water, 1 teaspoon vinegar
and approximately 20 drops of food colouring.
4 Immerse the eggs in the bowl for about 5 minutes. Don't forget to turn
them occasionally to make sure they are evenly coated.
5 Using a spoon or tongs remove the eggs and transfer onto the wire rack.
6 When the eggs are dry, pop them in the refrigerator.
7 Repeat this process with other food dyes.

  DESIGN AN EASTER KITE
One of the most unusual Easter traditions is the Bermudan kite flying parade! Join in the
fun this Easter by making your very own kite to fly in your garden or neighbourhood!

1 Make a lowercase T-shape with your sticks and attach them together with string Pape

and glue to make the frame of your kite. Leave to dry.
                                                                                                       String
2 Lay your kite frame over a plastic bag, paper, or fabric and draw around it.
                                                                                                        Glue
Then add two extra inches to each side, and cut out this shape. Decorations
3 Fold over the extra inches around the frame of the kite and glue them down (optional)
so that they enclose the kite frame. Leave to dry.
4 Add string to your kite by attaching it to the top three corners of your sticks and the middle point
where your sticks intersect, and wrapping it around the sticks. Make sure you keep your string long enough to fly!
5 Bring all the strings together and tie them at the center of the kite
so that you can easily hold them as one.
6 Decorate your kite – you can even add a tail with ribbon or paper!
