Lucious’ Story M y name is Lucious. I was a former crack cocaine addict who came to the mission for help. I thought that I was going to be smoking crack cocaine for the rest of my life. I came to the mission after I left my home in Jacksonville, Florida. My life had become completely unmanageable. I heard about the Center for Men and decided to seek help. At the Mission I received the biblical approach to recovery, and at the Broward Outreach Center, I received a therapeutic approach to recovery. By combining them both, I saw my life transformed. I am forever changed as God gave me everything that he promised me. Some people leaving the program worry about where they are going to stay and how they are going to survive. But I didn’t, because God provided me the opportunity to live in one of the permanent houses from the Broward Outreach Center. Everything for me is possible because the Mission has truly changed my life. One thing I know for sure is that if it wasn’t for this mission, I truly believe that I wouldn’t have been successful. Today, I feel wonderful, I feel, like I am giving back to society. I feel God has answered every one of my prayers. Thank you for helping me have this new life.
