Geoenergy is a new co-owned journal of the Geological Society and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), launched in January 2023. Continuing the mission of its sibling journal, Petroleum Geoscience, Geoenergy will focus on the publication of timely and topical research in subsurface geoscience and the emerging energy transition field. The journal considers articles on the following themes: Energy storage: thermal energy storage, compressed air energy storage, hydroelectric storage Subsurface disposal and storage: carbon capture and storage (CCS), bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), radioactive waste storage Geothermal energy: exploration, characterization and modelling of geothermal fields Hydrogen energy: exploration, production and storage of hydrogen Critical minerals and raw materials: minerals for the energy transition Sustainability: surveillance and long-term assurance for management of subsurface resources, e.g. geochemical characterisation of groundwater systems, use of advanced geophysical monitoring methods, improved understanding of stress and strain evolution in rock masses and geo-systems modelling More information: https://www.geolsoc.org.uk/geoenergy Page 6 of 13 Valid until 31 May 2023.
Continuous Publication Under the continuous publication model, as soon as an article is ready to be published, it will be immediately assigned to an issue online rather than waiting for other articles in the issue to be completed, resulting in faster access to the final version of the article. Continuous publication applies to the following journals: Journal of the Geological Society Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology Petroleum Geoscience Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis Scottish Journal of Geology Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society Article stages: “Issue in Progress” applies to journal articles and “Volume in Progress” to book articles. Accepted manuscripts are posted online within 2 weeks of acceptance to facilitate early access to research and citation for authors and researchers. Digital article identifiers (DOIs) are published for accepted manuscripts and registered with CrossRef allowing permanent resolution to the final version of record when it is published. Perpetual access is not available to accepted manuscripts. The version of record is the typeset article that appears online before the final volume or issue is complete. These articles are in their final PDF format apart from final volume pagination, i.e. they have been accepted for publication, copyedited, typeset, proofed and corrected. The final version includes final pagination when the issue/volume is completed. Perpetual access is only available to articles published in a completed volume or issue within the subscribed-to calendar year. Access entitlements for institutional subscribers with a current subscription: Lyell Collection Complete† subscribers can view the full text of all articles and accepted manuscripts in the Lyell Collection. Special Publications‡ annual subscribers can view the full text of all published Special Publication volumes plus volumes in progress at https://www.lyellcollection.org/sp/in-progress Subscribers to individual journals can view the full text of all articles and accepted manuscripts in the relevant journal.
