2 OUTLETS BRIEF HISTORY Village Groupe, backed by expertise, intelligent capital and industry experience, is bringing Outlet Malls of International standards to India and re-defining the shopping experience. Outlet Malls are often on the top of the tour agenda for Indian families vacationing in Europe or North America, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, international vacations are not on the agenda for a few years for most Indian tourists. Outlets first appeared in the eastern United States in the 1930s. Factory stores started to offer old season or excess goods to employees at a low price. In 1974, Vanity Fair opened up the first multi-store outlet centre in Reading, Pennsylvania and throughout the 1980s and 1990s, outlet malls mushroomed rapidly in the semi-urban areas of the United States. However, Outlet Malls are not an exclusively American phenomenon, they are widespread across Europe and in some parts of Asia too. As of 2019, there were about 450+ proper outlet malls all over the world with 80% of them located in North America and Europe. Globally, some of the most successful outlet mall brands are Premium Outlets by Simon Property Group, The Villages (Bicester Village Shopping Collection by Value Retail) and Outlet Villages by McArthur Glen. 6 FOUNDING TEAM Deepak Kumar Sharma, CEO & Founder. Deepak has two decades of experience in technology, mortgage banking, retail and real estate. He lead teams & ventures in Canada, Dubai, United States and United Kingdom serving the likes of Experian, Wells Fargo Bank, Genworth Financial, Toyota Financial Services and Gravitas Financial (Joint Venture Partner). In the last decade, he has been instrumental in introducing several international fashion & lifestyle brands to India and has now embarked upon introducing retail destinations with the format of “Village Outlet”. Udai Pal Singh, Co-Founder. Udai has over two decades of experience in E-commerce & Marketing (Ex. Benefits Plus Media, KOOVS, Blessings Advertising and vMobo). Over the last decade, he has been directly heading alliances and has built a great network of brands, manufacturers and designers across India. Currently, he manages a pan-India network of real-estate consultants for sourcing properties as well as finding potential franchise partners for the upcoming Village Groupe formats. Vinay Shenoy, Co-Founder. Vinay has over two decades of experience in Marketing & Communications, Shopping Centre Planning & Leasing and Sports Marketing (Ex. Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Yahoo, Asipac Group, etc.) The last position he held in his 5 year stint at Asipac Projects was that of Chief Operating O icer, spearheading Planning and Leasing of Malls. Subsequent stints included spearing forward the Marketing Organisations of two Real Estate Majors, Patel Realty, Mumbai and Mantri Developers, Bangalore. G.S. Wahi, Co-Founder. Gurcharan has over two decades of experience in real estate strategy , development, asset & investment Management, Networking, Deal Structuring and Execution of Business Plans. He has built a very wide business network across government, corporate and private sectors. Currently, he manages real estate expansion and developments pan India. Santhosh H J, Head - Architecture & Design. Santhosh comes from a reputed construction business family and is an Architect with more than Village Groupe 23 years of experience having worked in various capacities in Real Estate and Construction including Design, Value Engineering and Project Management. He was previously heading architectural design for RSP in South India and was the lead architect behind many successful shopping malls. He has also worked on projects like mixed-use developments, residential developments, corporate o ices and hotels with global consultants.
