Garrads horse & hound Dressage Championships Feature Event Class 13 HARNESS DRESSAGE • EA Driving Rules – See attached test (last page of program) • Nomination fee - $16 per horse • Prize money – 1st place, 70% of Jackpot money, 2nd-6th Ribbons. • Feature Event Saturday Afternoon – exact time will be stated on draw. • Must not hitch up until specified time in the draw. This is very strict and will be enforced by elimination • Please be respectful of horses who may not be used to seeing harness vehicles. Stop if there is an issue • Will run under EA Carriage rules. EA carriage test can be downloaded from EA Website https://www.equestrian.org.au/driving-rules-and-tests • Please be prepared to drive under lights if necessary • Arena will be standard 60m x 20m

Garrads horse & hound Dressage Championships Rules and regulations • Maximum of two consecutive levels per horse (eg. Prep/prelim or prelim/novice etc) • Maximum of two tests per day per horse (does not include Feature event) • Horses may compete in either official or closed at the one level but not both • One rider may not ride more than two horses in the one class • A horse is to be ridden by the one same rider throughout the two days of the event • Horses may compete HC at any level. Refer rule 1.19 in rule book • This must be indicated on entry form or in writing before the start of the competition • Official – entries must be accompanied by registration numbers for horse and rider. • Rider must use their 2 official bridle numbers. Entries will be checked with EA database. • Closed unrestricted – horses need not be registered but must compete at their level of grading if they have one. Open to NQEG or EA participative members • Closed restricted – horses need not be registered but must compete at their level of grading if they have one. Open to NQEG members only • Juniors – enclose DOB with junior entries. Riders 12 or over may ride senior or junior but not both on the same horse • Green Rider – must not have placed in any tests or ridden more than 10 tests at any level • Stallions – green discs must be used at all times (riding/leading/stabled). • Dogs – must be kept on a leash at your campsite at all times • Please abide by the organising committees decisions during the competition, especially regarding riding areas and other safety issues • *all competitors please note that swabbing may occur any events conducted by this club • Electric or rope and post fences are not allowed – stables are limited so be prepared with steel yards. GROUNDS AVAILABLE ONLY FROM 12PM FRIDAY AFTERNOON. • CATERING – canteen will be provided by BRPC, please show your support • Camping fee – to be paid with nominations. $10 a night, $10 a day for electricity if not camping. • Refunds - will be given if a vet certificate or doctors certificate is received within 24hours of the competition. NQEG will retain 50% admin fee. If you show up for your helper job, then 100% will be refunded without any questions. • Competitors must fill out the COVID HEALTH DECLARATION FORM available at club house. DRESS STANDARDS • Official classes will be expected to compete in coats (dark in colour as per EA rules – unless the committee decides otherwise) • Closed and junior classes – minimum acceptable will be long sleeved pale coloured shirt with tie, stock or ratcatcher collar. This rule overriders the current EA rules • Jodhpurs are to be white, off white, beige or light canary • • Gloves are compulsory for all classes
• Leather gaiters are permitted for all riders (no suede chapettes) • Long boots are permitted for all riders (brown or black) Garrads horse & hound Dressage Championships • Nosebands are compulsory for all classes Presentation of awards TO BE HELD END OF DAY TWO (SUNDAY) TROPHIES Horses must compete in classes on both days to be eligible. Highest av % will decide in an equality of points PRIZEMONEY OFFICIAL 1ST $50, 2ND $40, 3RD, $30 UNOFFICIAL 1ST $40, 2ND $30, 3rd $20 Classes with less than 4 entries will only pay prize money to first place NQEG committee reserve the right to substitute goods or vouchers to the value of prizemoney *you must provide stamped/paid self-addressed envelope if you are unable to attend the presentation, uncollected prize money will be considered a donation to the club Draw will be emailed in the week prior to competition to the email addresses provided with nominations Last minute cancellations to the be advised so call either Saturday or Sunday of competition to advice organisers of this 0403476759 – text this number with your name, horse name and class from which you are scratching.
