Jacqui officially purchased the
business off Tony & Christine Thomson
on the 1st July 2018, officially ending
a close to 50-year career in the flooring
  industry for Tony.
Tony & Christine will still work
‘casually’ in the business for Jacqui
when they are needed – Tony doing
  some measures and Christine assisting
with some Administration, but they both
look forward to a well-earned break.
Jacqui is thrilled to be continuing the
family business. “I had such a great
  opportunity in buying an established
business that had been around for over
50 years, but to purchase both stores
and continue our family name into
the third generation, well that’s pretty
special and not something you see
every day. Especially being a female
buying into such a male dominated
industry, I’m kind of proud of that, and
I hope that I do the entire Thomson
  family proud!
I wish Mum and Dad all the very
best in their ‘Semi Retirement’ as I
know how hard they have worked for so
many years! They deserve a rest!!” says
  Jacqui.

The development process includes
  extensive consultation with industry
  experts and floor covering manufacturers,
as well as trialling with apprentices
enrolled at TAFE institutes around the
country. All TAFE teachers who deliver
  the flooring qualification are involved
in the trialling, review and continuous
  improvement of materials, collectively
  representing every state in Australia.
      The TAFE institutes are experiencing
  a resurgence in enrolment numbers,
and now account for about 80% of all
  apprentices undertaking the Flooring
  Technology trade qualification. This is
very heartening news for the industry,
  considering apprenticeship numbers in
various other trades have been steadily
declining for several years, with no
  immediate end in sight.

KENECT 5G
  NEW ADVANCED HYBRID FLOORING
Quieter, greater flexibility and easy to install!!
The manufacturing method used to produce the Kenect 5G is a two step
process. Firstly the core is extruded using Limestone Calcium bonded with
PVC. The secondary process is called Automated Hot Press, this binds it all
together with two LVT layers. The first of these LVT layers is inserted just
above the core, called the comfort layer, the second is the stability layer just
underneath the core.
The comfort layer combined with the IXPE acoustic backing significantly
reduces noise transfer. This makes the planks quieter and more comfortable
to stand and walk upon. These two LVT layers give the Kenect 5G more
flexibility. Combine that with the advanced 5G locking system and you have
a product that is quick and easy to install.
