One such world record was made by two Polish, who won the Chal- lenge International de Tourisme competition in 1932. The Challenge International de Tour- isme in 1932 was the third FAI tourist plane contest that took off on 12th August 1932, from Berlin, Germany. It went on for more than two weeks and demanded the death of an Italian pilot. A fearsome challenge, the contest consisted of three parts: technical trials and evaluation of all the new planes participating, a 7363 km rally round Europe and a maximum speed test with at least two passengers required on board at all times.
