POLICIES AND AGREEMENT ECA Term 1 is open only to senior kindergarten/grande section students and above. Term 2 and 3 will be open to junior kindergarten/moyenne section and above. Registration Registration will begin on Monday, September 10th. Fees will be calculated on 8 guaranteed classes per session. Beginning and ending dates will vary each school year to allow for 8 classes per session. All fees must be paid at registration time. No spot will be reserved without payment. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until the class is full. Class sizes will be set by the administration and will not be changed. All applications will be dated. The time of application will be recorded. There will be no discount or deduction if students register late for an activity or miss a class. Change of Activity Due to organizational and staffing issues, there will be no changes accepted after the activity schedule begins. Students may withdraw at any time with no refund. Make-up Classes The activities will follow the CIS and EFI school year calendar. There will be no activities during the calendar days marked as holidays and school events. Make-up classes may be assigned if the scheduled lesson does not occur for some reason that is deemed to be the fault of the school or if the instructor is not available as scheduled. If a student does not come to class for any reason, no make-up class will be scheduled. Cancellation CIS & EFI may cancel classes due to low registration (fewer than 3 participants unless stated otherwise). Parents will be notified of cancelled classes. If another choice cannot be found that is acceptable, a credit can be made for the next semester. The list may only be updated at the end of a school day. If too many children are accepted into a class due to recording error, the time and date of the application will be the deciding factor in the registration of a child. Parents will be notified to make other choices.
Refunds By signing up for ECAs, the parent(s) acknowledge that extra-curricular activities are nonrefundable. If a child withdraws from a program within the first 2 weeks, a credit to the next semester may be made, providing the reason for withdrawal is acceptable to the school. Fees to be credited will be accepted by parents, as calculated by office staff and established billing procedures. No credit will be applied after 2 weeks.
MONDAY ACTIVITIES Elite Soccer** Monday SK-Gr. 2 Min: 6 students Mr. Chris GS- CE1 Limit: 16 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Students will be introduced to the basics of soccer (football) with an emphasis on building skills with a qualified coach. Needed: Comfortable clothing, running shoes, socks and a water bottle. Yoga for kids** *Open to Families! Monday SK-Gr. 2 Min: 3 students Ms. Lucile Nattiez GS- CE1 Limit: 10 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Ms. Lucile Nattiez is a certified yoga teacher who trained at Yoga Phnom Penh - Azahar Foundation. Students will be taught yoga through a fun approach of themes, games, asana and activities. Some of the themes will include jungles, oceans, animals, shapes, sounds, mandala and play dough. Activities will help students create mindfulness, confidence, empathy, and self-awareness. Needed: Comfortable clothing and a water bottle.
Junior Karate** *Open to families! Monday SK-Gr. 2 Min: 5 students Mr. Andy Kent GS- CE1 Limit: 20 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students This class starts with a standard formalized warm-up, and then we will study KATA, which is a set of sequenced movements to bring the body, mind and spirit together. The teaching method varies each day to keep it fun and exciting! *Details: Gi (Karate outfit) available a for purchase through the instructor. Swimming Beginner 1** Monday SK-Gr. 2 Min: 3 students Ms. Tracey & Tanami GS- CE1 Limit: 12 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students In this beginner class, students will engage in gross-motor activities at the Bassac Garden Campus pool and increase their confidence in water. Needed: Swimsuit, towel, water bottle (goggles and swim cap optional).
IT Academy: Animation Monday Gr. 3+ Min: 5 students Mr. Sarel Myburgh CE 2+ Limit: 10 students Students will be introduced to the principles of animation using simple tools. They will discover different techniques such as stop-motion, drawing and animated presentation. Working with 2D animation will teach students the art of storytelling. They will be able to free their imagination, improve their creative and design skills while using software tools. This course will be offered by Junior Computer Academy STEP Cambodia. Through project-based education, students will learn useful 21st century digital skills. Performing Arts: Dance, Theatre, Musical Monday Gr. 1+ Min: 5 students Advanced Learning CP+ Limit: 15 students Academy **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Performing arts has the ability to provide kids with a wide variety of skills to set them up for life. It can help develop their creativity, -allowing kids to be innovative, imaginative and broad-minded. This class will be a combination of having fun learning and challenging one’s brain all while-encouraging creativity and expression. Students will be exposed to different skills such as acting, singing, dancing in one stage performance, allowing them to discover their own potential.
SNAG Golf Monday SK-Gr. 3 Min: 6 students Mr. Steve Shep GS-CE 2 Limit: 16 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students SNAG is the perfect start for children to learn golf in a fun and easy way that offers the versatility to learn and play in almost any environment they choose whether outdoors or indoors. Using a fun and playful approach to golf, students will learn the basics of the sport in a challenging way while improving their motor skills. Art Journal Making Monday Gr. 2+ Min: 5 students Ms. Elsa Boonzaaier CE 1+ Limit: 12 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Art journaling allows children to access new knowledge and understanding about their feelings and the type of person they are. It creates a deeper sense of self-awareness, self-expression, discovery and creativity. In this class, the students will learn about layering and will be creating art pages with paints, dyes, collages, and pen/pencil sketches. They will also be able to create and bind their own book based on how they express themselves through their journal.
Board Games** Monday SK+ Min: 4 students Mrs. Mélanie & GS+ Limit: 20 students Ms.Chloe **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Scrabble, Chinese Checkers, Dominos, Monopoly, Cambopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary and more! Playing board games is all about having fun, but it’s also good for memory formation, cognitive skills, reducing stress, and helps with brain development. In this class, children will be encouraged to play different types of board games while increasing their verbal skills, attention, concentration and communication skills, all while having fun playing games! Lego Club Monday Gr. 4+ Min: 3 students Ms. Mary Wastel CM1+ Limit: 10 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students We have 9 kg of Lego available! For the first two sessions, students will be allowed to use the Lego to freely construct and explore. Thereafter, a Lego challenge will be set each week. The students will have the option of working on the challenge individually or in a group of no more than three people. The challenges are varied and will encourage imagination, problem-solving and construction skills.
Trampoline Monday Gr. 4+ Min: 5 1coachandy sports CM 1+ Limit: 12 academy cambodia **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Let’s jump and have fun! Join our trampoline class and enjoy the great benefits of it while having a great time bouncing. Trampoline encourages children to not only put down their devices but also to go outside and get active. The best part about the trampoline is that it is fun and doesn’t feel like exercise. Jumping on a trampoline will increase your child’s overall health and fitness, improves gross motor skills and posture.
TUESDAY ACTIVITIES Acrobatic & Gymnastic Dance** Tuesday Gr. 3+ Min: 5 students Ms. Miljana CE 2+ Limit: 15 students **Open to non-CIS and EFI students Are you flexible enough to dance and move? You will learn to do both in this class. Gymnastic Dance is a dance style that combines dance and acrobatic movements. The movements that gymnastic dancers use in dance routines include handstands, cartwheels, handsprings and more. In this class, students will develop a high degree of flexibility, fitness and agility. Music and Lyrics** Tuesday SK- Gr. 3 Min: 5 Students Mr. John Cuny GS- CE 2 Max: 12 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Do you like singing? Join us for a music workshop with Mr. John Cuny who has years of experience teaching kids with music and instruments! In this activity, students will focus on relaxation and breathing exercises, making rhythm with their bodies and identifying different rhythms and pitches in their voices while singing a variety of songs in French and English.

Robotics: Beginner** *Open to Families! Tuesday SK-Gr.1 Min: 3 Students GS- CE 1 Limit: 16 Students Advance Learning **open to non-CIS Academy & and non-EFI Mr. Pech students Hosted by Advance Learning Academy, students will learn how to make robots work. They will be using critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, mathematics, science and language in completing each task. Using Lego products, students will learn how to design, construct, and program robots using them to perform certain tasks. Mr. Raphael Pech will also be working with students in French.
IT Academy: Advanced PC User Course Tuesday Gr. 3+ Min: 5 students Mr. Sarel Myburgh CE 2+ Limit: 10 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students In this course, students will discover what is hidden inside a computer. They will become confident with operating systems and set up user profiles. Data storage devices, Microsoft Office, the Internet and software management will no longer be unfamiliar. They will also have the opportunity to improve their typing skills. Swimming Intermediate** Tuesday Gr. 3+ DIB Pool Min: 3 students CE 2+ Limit: 12 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students This class is for students who are comfortable in the water, can tread water and swim one length of the pool without stopping (50m in length). Students will be practising skills, strokes, swimming forms and playing water games. Needed: Swimsuit, towel, water bottle, goggles and swim cap.
Cooking Class *Open to families! Tuesday SK-Gr. 3 Min: 3 Students Dara Airport Hotel GS-CE 2 Limit: 15 students *open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Students will learn how to prepare and enjoy a delicious dish each week hosted by Dara Hotel. Handball Tuesday Gr. 3+ Min: 4 students Kampuchea Balopp CE 2+ Limit: 15 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players or less pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. This sport benefits the body in a variety of ways. It’s a fast-paced sport which allows a full-body workout that promotes muscle tone and strength, particularly in the upper body and arms. Needed: PE uniform or comfortable clothes, sport shoes and a water bottle.

The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality and memorization will also be explored. Students are encouraged to explore space and enjoy dancing. Needed: Comfortable clothing, running shoes, socks and a water bottle.
Clay Modeling Sculpture *Open to Families! Tuesday Gr. 1+ Min: 5 students The Art Bar CP+ Limit: 15 Students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Sculpture is the art of shaping three dimensional objects from clay. A technique passed down for centuries, making sculptures involves various techniques such as carving, molding, casting, chiseling and more. Students will learn the fundamentals, terminology, and important tools needed to make sculptures. They will work with water-based clays and create 2-3 series of studies each workshop Techniques with tools, hands, and structuring will be taught with each workshop. By the end, students will be able to make an advanced piece of sculpture utilizing all the techniques they’ve learned.
WEDNESDAY ACTIVITIES Junior Karate** *Open to families! Classical & Traditional Khmer Dances** Wednesday SK+ Min: 5 students Cambodian Living GS+ Limit: 10 students Arts **Open to non-CIS and EFI students In this class lead by Cambodian Living Arts, students will learn about the history of Khmer dances as well as how to perform the dance. It is a highly stylized dance usually completed with elaborate costumes and music played by a pinpeat ensemble. Apart from dance dramas, students will also learn the basic of the most popular Khmer dances such as, Apsara dance, and Coconut Dance among other traditional dances.
Rock Climbing** Wednesday Gr. 3+ Min: 5 Phnom Climb & CE 2+ Limit:12 Students Ms. Dizon **Open to non-CIS and EFI students This class, lead by Phnom Climb instructors, will introduce students to the fun world of climbing through games and activities. Children will learn basic climbing and safety skills while building confidence, strength and balance. With a climbing guide, students will learn the basics of safety, how to follow routes, identify holds, make figure-8 knots and proper harness usage. Kid- friendly and fun, experienced climbers will lead the classes off-campus. Needed: PE uniform, socks and a water bottle. Junior Tennis** Friday Gr.1- Gr.3 Min: 3 students Tennis Cambodia CP- CE 2 Limit: 15 students **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Come and play tennis with Tennis Cambodia! This course is designed for beginners looking to learn the basics of the game. We will develop hand-eye coordination, balance, agility and basic racket handling skills. The coaches in the federation are trained in making it both educational and fun for the children. All the equipment, including rackets and balls, will be provided by Tennis Cambodia, we just need the kids to show up ready to play! Needed: PE uniform, sport shoes and a water bottle. Khmer Beginner** Friday SK+ Limit: 20 students Ms. Sokkheng & Ms. GS+ Chansopheak **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students In this class, students will be introduced to basic Khmer language, and will learn to recognize and read consonants and vowels, play Khmer games, and learn new Khmer songs!
Henna Art Tattoo Friday G3+ Min: 5 Ms. Prinscella CE 2+ Limit: 12 **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students In this class, students will learn the cultural significance and the benefits of Henna, not only to the physical appearance, but both mental and physical advantages of it that most people don’t know about. Aside from honing one's creativity and self-expression, students will have the liberty to create or re-create different henna patterns and designs. All materials are non-toxic and chemical-free. Zumba Kids Friday Gr. 2- 4 Min: 5 Ms. Nita Mao CE 2-CM 1 Limit: 12 **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Zumba Kids features the famous Zumba Fitness music, rhythms, and beats along with kid-friendly routines. Giving children an outlet to jump, dance, shake, and swing their hips which makes the perfect recipe for fitness fun. Zumba Kids also adds age-appropriate games and activities, helping children gain coordination, self-confidence, overcome fears, learn about teamwork, and much more.
Chess Friday Gr.2-Gr.4 Min: 5 First Move Chess CE 1-CM 1 Limit: 20 Academy **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students There are lots of reasons to play chess and it has been proven to be good for children as it helps stimulate the brain. Chess helps develop memory, logical thinking and improves concentration. It also encourages imagination and creativity. More importantly, chess develops the capability to predict and foresee consequences of actions. Traditional Chinese Painting Friday Gr. 4+ Min: 3 students Wenting Gong & Nian CM1+ Limit: 10 students Zhang **open to non-CIS and non-EFI students Traditional Chinese painting involves essentially the same techniques as calligraphy and is done with a brush dipped in black ink or coloured pigments; oils are not used. As with calligraphy, the most popular materials on which paintings are made are paper and silk. The finished work can be mounted on scrolls, such as hanging scrolls. Students will explore Chinese color ink painting and the way to hold the brush, Chinese culture and the beauty of Chinese characters. Through our class, students will spur their creativity and imagination by expressing their own ideas and thought on a thin paper.
