We are excited about the Thomson-East Coast Line 2 (TEL2) opening! It’s easier to get to work, home, and everywhere in between with TEL2. About 100,000 households are now within a 10-minute walk of a TEL1 or TEL2 station, and many can expect their travelling time to be reduced by up to half. With the TEL, you now have more transport options than ever! The TEL is connected to the North-South Line via Woodlands and the Circle Line via Caldecott. Bright Hill station will also be an interchange with the future Cross Island Line. Your commute is about to become smoother, faster and easier. It’s easier for everyone to travel on the TEL Public transport is about connecting people to places safely and efficiently. We’ve added inclusive station features that will make travelling on the TEL more accessible for all. Clearer signage with greater colour contrasts makes it easier for visually impaired commuters to navigate the stations. Staircase handrails and the sides of escalators have lights built in to enhance visibility. Seats on station platforms are equipped with backrests and armrests to bring added comfort to commuters' journeys. More entrances and exits make it easier than ever for commuters to get to their destinations. 3
Parking spaces for bicycles are conveniently located outside the stations. This way, commuters can make their last mile journeys to and from MRT stations on their bicycles. OU DID Y ? K N OW TEL2 stations are designed and built with sustainability in mind, with some already attaining BCA’s Green Mark certification. Every bit counts in shaping an eco-friendly public transport system! Welcome aboard for a smoother ride Each TEL train is about 93m long. That’s almost as long as a football field! Each train also weighs 150 tonnes – as much as 32 adult elephants! TEL trains have five doors on each side instead of the usual four. This allows for quicker boarding and alighting, bringing smoother journeys to commuters. 4
