Welcome to Parent Council! If you have a child or children at Grace
Academy, YOU are part of Parent Council.

Grace Academy’s Parent Council exists to facilitate parental
involvement, utilizing parent’s gifts and abilities to support staff and
students and to build the school community through programs that
are consistent with the overall mission of Grace Academy.

The Executive Committee Parent Council (ECPC) invites you to join
us as we support our teachers, students, and community during the
2021-2022 school year. We want God to be glorified through our
volunteer efforts, and we plan to have fun along the way!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us with questions about
how you can get involved. We are excited to serve our school
alongside you!

The Grace Community
"Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let
us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another."
                                                                      - Hebrews 10:24-25

       HOSPITALITY

Hospitality exists to serve and care for our teachers and staff.
We are blessed with talented, dedicated educators who pour their
knowledge, wisdom, and love into our students every day. Through
Hospitality we thank them for all they do, with teacher in-service
meals throughout the school year, Blessings Day (Pie Day) in
November, a faculty and staff Christmas party in December, and
   Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

                                                         COMMUNITY
                                                        ENGAGEMENT

Community is a feeling of fellowship with others, the result of
sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Grace Academy
offers our children and their families a unique opportunity for
   community that feels like family.

Parent Council supports community engagement in our school
through events such as movie nights, Mom’s Life socials, and the
annual Family Retreat. We also participate in local community
events like the Christmas Stroll in downtown Georgetown. Every
event is an opportunity to dive deeper into this family, and we want
to welcome you to be a part!

The Grace Community (continued)

       COMMUNITY
        SUPPORT

We desire to be intentional about nurturing our community through
lots of prayer and through endeavors that seek to develop and
strengthen relationships that are ultimately eternal relationships.

We do this through our Welcome Team for New Families, New Families
Events, our Homeroom Parents, and Moms' Prayer.

"Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always."

HOW TO USE SCRIP:

Shop with Scrip to earn cash toward tuition!* It is so easy to get set up and
start earning cash for the school and for yourself with the simplified
process and the app.

How it works: Simply use the app to shop for both digital and physical gift
cards for hundreds of major retailers. Digital gift cards are delivered to
your "wallet" in the app almost immediately for use on the go. Physical
gift cards are sent to the school during the school year and distributed
regularly. (They can be mailed to your house during the summer.)

*Half of the cash rebates you earn goes directly to the school, and the
other half will be applied to next year's tuition.

Set up is easy and quick (5 min):
1) Download the NEW app: RaiseRight Fundraising app.
2) Select "Join a Program" and enter the enrollment code:
348D8DBA15793
3) Follow instructions.
4) Go to account settings to link your bank account. (Note: We do not
accept physical checks for this program. A credit card can also be used,
but the transaction costs are higher.)
5) Start shopping, and be on the lookout for special bonus rebates that
are available throughout the year.

Hot Lunch Ordering FAQ

Parent Council is so excited to offer hot lunch again for the 2021-2022 school
year. Did you know the hot lunch program is a successful fundraiser for Parent
Council? Our proceeds go directly back to our community to support our
students and teachers.

When does hot lunch ordering begin? Hot lunch ordering will begin on August
18th and end on August 27th at 10 pm.

When is Hot Lunch offered? Tuesdays and Fridays.

How do I place an order? We order lunches through the School Lunch Choice
website, https://graceacademy.schoollunchchoice.com. See instructions
below.

Do you accept late orders? Late orders may be accommodated on a case-by-
case basis depending on vendor deadlines and how late the order is. Please make
every effort to meet the ordering deadline.

Can I cancel a meal once the order has been placed? Meals may be cancelled
14 days in advance. If you cancel a meal, the ordering system will not let you re-
order for that date.

How do I cancel a meal? Select "Order" next to the name of the student. Find the
date you wish to cancel and individually cancel each menu item. You will receive
a credit in your account for the value of your cancelled meal(s).

Hot Lunch (continued)

Does Parent Council offer refunds for absences? As in the past, we do not offer
refunds or credits for absences. Our volunteers are happy to distribute your
child’s lunch to a sibling, or we will donate it to a teacher or staff member.

What about school closures (weather-related events, etc.)? In the event of a
school closure, hot lunch cancellation will be announced. Parents will have a
short window of opportunity to cancel their lunches. If parents do not cancel
their lunches, it will be considered a donation to Parent Council.

What about a credit from a previous year? Your credit will appear in your
account automatically, and you can apply it to any lunches ordered this year until
it has been spent in full.

What are the food choices this year? We are happy to offer Chick-Fil-A and
P.Terry's on alternating Tuesdays and Papa John's on Fridays this year. All menu
items are subject to change based upon availability of quality ingredients from
our vendors. Drinks are not included. Condiments will be provided on the side.

Hot Lunch (continued)

Who serves hot lunch?
Parents, we can’t provide this service without your help! Please consider signing
up to help to serve lunches on our Sign-Up Genius. We need three volunteers
each Tuesday and Friday in order to provide this service to our school. We will
also need DRIVERS to pick up hot lunch from our vendors and deliver it to our
school. Driving is a really quick and easy way to serve! Sign up here:
https://tinyurl.com/4eh2w2h7

How will hot lunches be served this year?
Our K-1 students will be served by their teacher. Students in Grades 2-5 will pick
up their lunch from the assembly room with their class. Logic and Rhetoric (6-12)
should pick up their lunch from the assembly room at the beginning of their
lunch period (12:15).

If you use Amazon on a daily basis, like most, why not have a portion of your
purchase go directly to the school?!

This is a simple way we can raise funds for Grace Academy!

Here's how:
  1. https://smile.amazon.com
 2. Search for Grace Academy Georgetown, TX
 3. Add the school to your account.

Now you're all set to help support Grace Academy while you shop on Amazon!

Shopping can be done as usual on the website or app, but the school will only get
the credit if you switch to smile.amazon.com for checkout.

      yay!

Spirit wear always adds to that feeling of community. Your student will have
a few opportunities to don spirit wear during the school year. In addition,
it's great to see Grace apparel worn out and about - a great way to start
conversations about the school!

At the beginning of the school year, we will be selling select spirit wear
items at the Meet the Teacher morning, Boohoo Yahoo Breakfast, and the
day before the Back to School Bash. We prefer cash or check, or you may
use Venmo (@PCGrace) or PayPal (please watch this video for
appropriate PayPal use). Credit cards can also be used, but they do charge
us some fees.

If you are unable to make it to any of these events and would like to make a
purchase, please contact Jessie Kirkpatrick at jliu@alumni.rice.edu with
your name, items, sizes, and quantities desired, and your method of
payment.
