Welcome to Belfast! Sunday 1200-1700hrs Join us in the foyer of the Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Hope Street to collect your welcome pack, lanyard and badge from the Europatreffen reception desk. Nothing formal is planned. It is an opportunity to greet those people with whom you will be spending a fun-filled week and to learn more about the schedule and Belfast from the materials provided, ahead of our first formal event. Titanic Experience Evening Sunday 1700-2300hrs £65pp A rare opportunity to dine in the Hospitality Suite of the Titanic Museum, which celebrates the life of the MV Titanic in the Harland and Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, close to this site. A welcome drink and buffet meal can be enjoyed whilst looking at spectacular views of the Belfast skyline. See the stunning replica of the Titanic ballroom staircase, not normally open to public viewing. Belfast City Walk Monday 1000-1300hrs Free An escorted tour of the city centre of Belfast, starting at the Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Hope Street. An opportunity to explore the cultural and architectural splendour of the capital of Northern Ireland. We will walk about four miles through the streets of Belfast, reliving the history and have an opportunity to see much of the the central area and murals that are such a feature of this charismatic city.
Gin Tasting Experience Monday 1900-2200hrs £35pp The Belfast Gin School has agreed to run a gin tasting evening for us, where we can learn about the making of gin and the differences in the distillation process and botanicals used to provide flavour. During the evening canapes will be provided and you'll get to sample some of the finest and most novel gins available today. The venue is a 1.2 km walk or a short taxi ride from central Belfast. McHughs Dinner/Irish Music Monday 1900-2300hrs £35pp Dinner in the famous 300 year old Irish restaurant, McHughs, a place with a great atmosphere, food and music and a lively history! A three course meal and two drinks are included. Cash Bar available. Great entertainment and the possibility to join in if you wish! This promises to be a fun evening! The venue is a short walk or taxi ride from our main hotels. Day Trip to Dublin Wednesday 0830hrs-1830hrs £35pp For those who wish to see the delights of Dublin and explore the capital of the Republic of Ireland, transport will be provided to drive the two hours to Dublin to a central point. You will then have at least six hours to explore the city, its food, bars, architecture and history at your own pace, or join in one of the many guided tours before reconvening at 1630hrs to travel back to Belfast.
Game of Thrones Tour Wednesday 0830-1800hr £35pp This tour takes you to some of the locations of the filming of the Game of Thrones series as part of an extended guided tour led by Flip Robinson, the stand-in actor for Hodor in the series. The trip includes travel and access to locations not available to the general public and behind the scenes stories. Lunch is not included, but the tour will stop at a location where food is available. Stormont/ Castle Ward Tour Wednesday 0900-1800hrs £35pp A chance to see the Northern Ireland Assembly building and gardens. We have kindly been offered an escorted tour of the parliament by NI MLA (Member of the NI Assembly), Paul Frew, for early signers. After exploring the gardens, participants will move onto Castle Ward, where they can see this National Trust property and gardens in its restored form. For Game of Thrones addicts, you may recognise the house and scenery! Hog Roast Crumlin Road Gaol Thursday 1900-2300hrs £50pp A unique venue for a Opening Gala Dinner in the (now converted!) Crumlin Road Gaol, where we will be able to see some of the public exhibits before dining. The event includes a welcome drink and dinner. Cash bar provided. Some surprises during the dinner are unlikely to include the Judicial Executions of the past, but may offer a few "moments" for delegates not on their best behaviour.......!
Giants Causeway Tour Friday 0830-1800hrs £35pp This is one of the definitive tours of Europatreffen. The Giants Causeway is a natural geological feature of the NI coast. This tour includes access to the visitors centre and Giants Causeway. There is then a chance to cross the spectacular Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (subject to the weather) One of our hosts has offered to run a calming guided meditation prior to crossing. Bushmills Distillery Extension + £10pp or +£4pp As an option on this tour, delegates may shorten their time at the Giants Causeway and visit the famous Bushmills Distillery, where a full tour (+£10) or a mini tour (+ £4) is available for those that wish to take them. Others may explore the Distillery public areas, and the surrounding village. Once all have completed, we will re- embark together to continue the tour. Gala Dinner at La Mon Saturday 1700-very late £60pp Our Europatreffen Gala Dinner will be held this year at the La Mon Hotel and Country Club, a short distance out of the city centre by taxi. A three course buffet meal with welcome drink is included and later in the evening we will have live music and dancing. Cash bar available. Some participants will choose to move to this hotel for the Saturday night, where we enjoy a special 20% discount on best available rates.

Travel Ferry services from Great Britain (Liverpool and Cairnryan) come directly into Belfast harbour or via Holyhead to Dublin and train to Belfast. Special combined SailRail tickets are available. Nearest airports are Belfast International (BFS), Belfast City (BHD) and Dublin (DUB). Airport Transfers Airport transfers are available by several means including Ulsterbus/Translink Shuttle bus or taxi. Route 600 runs from Belfast City Airport (BHD), one-way less than £4.50 and 10 minutes. Taxis cost around £10. Route 300 from Belfast International Airport (BFS) to and from the Europa Bus centre in Belfast city centre. One-way ticket: £8, return ticket: £11.50 and 50 minutes. Taxis cost around £36. Aircoach or Translink goldline coaches run from Dublin (DUB) airport to Belfast centre (87 miles apart) and take about 2 hours and costs 17 Euro Belfast Taxis Belfast-based taxi services are available from a variety of suppliers. The largest are fonacab on +44 (0)28 9033 3333 and Value Cabs on +44 (0)28 9080 9080 – both have phone apps and accept card payments. Uber is available, but has a mixed reputation in Belfast because of a tendency to move to “high demand” charging quickly.
