Invitation to Sponsor
The eResearch NZ 2021 organising committee are delighted to invite you to become a sponsor of the 12th
Annual conference, to be held on the 10- 12 February in Wellington at Victoria University Kelburn Campus -
and this year we will also provide a virtual component for those that are unable to travel.
About eResearch
eResearch encompasses all of the information technology infrastructure, software, support staff, academic
expertise, and advanced methodologies that characterise a cutting-edge research community. This
includes large scale data science, modelling, machine learning, high performance computing, collections
management and advanced collaboration tools.
eResearch communities thrive on deep engagement with researchers, supporting the formation and
operation of effective, digitally-driven research ecosystems.
About eResearch NZ 2021 Wellington
For the last 11 years, the eResearch NZ conference has provided an important national forum for strategic
discussions, community building, and career development. In 2021, our theme of Level UP focuses on the
increasing speed, agility, scale, and collaboration required in research today, which has become even more
important with the impact that COVID-19 has had on research across the globe. It speaks to how we
respond to chaotic shifts in the research environment, whether influenced by emerging technologies,
government funding calls, or focused ‘future proofing’ to ensure research projects are resilient and
sustainable. Level UP also recognises the value and importance of skills training, professional development,
and mentoring for keeping researchers and research communities adaptable and innovative.
eResearch NZ 2021 aims to:
• Showcase innovative work-in-progress or recent project results where data science techniques
and/or digital technologies were utilised
• Highlight current and emerging priorities, trends, and best practices in eResearch approaches
• Provide opportunities for skills training, professional development, and mentoring in data
science and eResearch applications
• Draw experience and inspiration from eResearch programs and projects in other regions
• Build communities of practice that foster and support collaboration and knowledge-sharing
within and beyond NZ’s research sector
eReseach 2021 will be attended by people from the following segments within the eResearch Community:
• Executive Level stakeholders
• Postgraduate researchers from many disciplines
• Senior scientists from many of the country’s largest research projects
• IT Directors and CIOs from New Zealand’s universities, research institutes and polytechnics
• Representatives of New Zealand’s research infrastructure providers

The Venue
Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of

Exclusive sponsorship of the Coffee Cart. Plus, the opportunity to provide branded polo shirt for the barista
to wear during service. Your brand will be highly visible at the Coffee Cart. The Coffee Cart is consistently
identified in attendees’ feedback as a very popular hospitality offering.

Opportunity to get in front of an exclusive group of eResearchers. Session topic to be agreed with the

Student Sponsorship $495
eResearch NZ 2021 encourages research students to participate in the community’s annual conference.
This year, the conference is offering opportunities to sponsor student delegates. Sponsoring a student
includes the cost of registration and conference dinner.
Students who are selected for sponsorship commit to the following:
• Sponsor acknowledgement if their work appears in the programme.
• Sponsor acknowledgement in the conference handbook.
• Student sponsorship will be open to all students who are enrolled at a New Zealand university.
Students will be selected by eResearch NZ 2021. The student must arrange and fund their
travel requirements.
Events
Welcome Function, 10 February 2021
Held at the Victoria University of Wellington, the welcome function lasts approximately 90 minutes. You
will be provided with an opportunity to address delegates. (Platinum and Gold Sponsors only).
Conference Dinner, 11 February 2021
The conference dinner will be held at TBC. Exclusive Sponsorship of the Conference Dinner for Platinum
Sponsor only. This year the dinner will be off site and the Platinum Sponsor will have an opportunity to run
a prize draw and/or display their branding at the dinner as agreed with the conference committee.

Print entitlements
Your logos and/or company/organisation name will be reproduced in the
event colour/s, full colour, or mono, at our discretion. All logos must be at
least 300 DPI at 100% in EPS (preferred for print) and JPEG (preferred for
website) format.
No print or web recognition will be given unless payment terms have been
met.
No animals
No animals are permitted within University of Auckland buildings. Guide dogs
for the visually impaired are the only exception.
Privacy statement
Your name and contact information, including electronic address, may be
used by parties directly related to the event (such as the Principal, other
organisers, and approved stakeholders) for related purposes such as
promotion, networking, and administration related to this event and future
events of this type. You may decide the extent of any personal information
disclosed to Us but Our ability to provide the sponsorship entitlements may
be limited if You withhold requested information.
