Greetings! On behalf of the CSCE 2022 Local Organizing Committee, we are delighted to invite you to attend and become a partner in the Annual Conference of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering in Whistler, BC. The CSCE Annual Conference creates the perfect opportunity for exposure to industry professionals, academics, and government delegates. Presentations of peer‐reviewed papers and relevant case studies by innovative practitioners at the Specialty Conferences will inform practicing Canadian civil engineers of new developments in infrastructure and allow attendees an opportunity to share and gain knowledge. The theme for this conference is Engineering, Community, Connections. We are also proud to host the Specialty Conferences in Structures, Environmental, and Transportation at this event. The Resort Municipality of Whistler is located in the Pacific Ranges of the spectacular Coast Mountains on the shared, unceded territory of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation. It is a 120 km drive from Vancouver along the awe-inspiring Sea-to-Sky Highway. Whistler is known for being the Host Mountain Resort of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and is not only a place of scenic wonder but also a region with a fascinating history and cultural background. The 2022 Annual Conference will be hosted at the Whistler Conference Centre. Accommodations are available at the conference hotel, The Westin Whistler, where we have negotiated special rates for you. There is a wide variety of activities in Whistler to entertain conference delegates and their guests. Late spring is a lovely season to explore the beauty of the West Coast and the surrounding communities. We look forward to hosting you in Whistler from May 25th to 28th, 2022! Signature Dr. Rishi Gupta, MASc (UBC), Ph.D. (UBC), FEC, P.Eng., MCSCE Chair, Whistler 2022 Local Organizing Committee www.csce2022.com 2
