On behalf of the International Working Group on Data and Models of the IWA and IAHR Joint Committee
on Urban Drainage, it is a great privilege to host the 11th International Conference on Urban Drainage
Modelling (UDM) in Palermo next September 2018. The UDM Conference deals with the main and
advanced topics related to modelling the urban drainage system (e.g., water quality and quantity, urban
flooding and modelling, urban flood forecasting and risk analysis, socio-economic interactions and
modelling tools, etc… ).
The conference has been running since 1986 and in 2018 will be held the 11th edition, a monumental
achievement of the urban drainage community. The UDM conference series started back in 1986 in
Dubrovnik, former Yugoslavia. The second edition of UDM was organized in 1991 also in Dubrovnik. After
the first two editions in Dubrovnik, the conference has travelled across the globe to the River Volga (1994),
London (1998), Orlando (2001), Dresden (2004), Melbourne (2006), Tokyo (2009), Belgrade (2012) and
Québec (2015). In 2018 we will be meeting in Europe once again.
The UDM seeks to create a forum for promoting the discussion amongst scientists,
professionals and academia on urban drainage thus providing to women and men of
this field decisive ideas. We also hope that your participation to the Conference in
Palermo will provide you the opportunity to explore the rest of Italy, to savor its
diverse and rich mixture of ethnic traditions, culture, cuisine and religious sites. We
look forward to welcoming you to the colorful and vibrant city of Palermo and see
you in 2018.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
100% of amount is due immediately with booking confirmation. Invoices must be paid within 30 days of
the invoice date. Payment can be made by bank wire transfer. Bank details will be provided on all invoices.
All bank charges are the responsibility of the sender. Cheques or bank drafts must be in EURO and drawn
on an Italian bank. If the Client fails to submit full payment 1 month prior to the event, Conference
Organization can cancel the Client’s participation in the Exhibition.
Should a Sponsor wish to cancel its participation, written notification must be sent to the
Sponsorship/Exhibition Manager.
Refunds will be based on the following schedule:
Before 30th May 2018 – 50% of the booking deposit will be refunded
After 30th May 2018 – No refund available
Exhibitors are entitled to have two staff in attendance to man their exhibition stand. Additional staff
badges can be purchased for a price of €150 per person.
Exhibitors taking a stand agree to be present for the full duration of the exhibition. In the event that the
conference is postponed for any given reason, the sponsor will not be entitled to cancel the sponsorship or
to obtain monetary compensation, but the benefits that have been agreed will remain in place for the
rescheduled event. In the event that the conference is cancelled for any given reason, the organizers will
refund the sponsorship money to the relevant company, minus any benefits that have been received by the
company prior to the cancellation and any expenses incurred by the organizers with respect to the
provision of the agreed benefits.
Preferences and priorities requested by the Exhibitor/Sponsor as to booth space location will be respected
whenever possible. The Sponsorship/Exhibition Manager however reserves the right to make reasonable
transfers as to the location of the Exhibitor/Sponsor’s booth should any circumstances arise where it is
deemed necessary. No transfers will be made without prior notice to the Exhibitor/Sponsor. Any changes in
booth locations do not entitle the Exhibitor/Sponsor to cancel the exhibition space or obtain monetary
compensation.www.UDM2018.org The organizers reserve the right to alter the layout of the exhibition area and to remove sections of the space and features such as posters, catering and internet café. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any loss of damage of/to any equipment brought in for the Exhibitor/Sponsor’s exhibition stand. The Exhibitor/Sponsor is therefore advised to ensure to take out adequate insurance cover as necessary including Employers Liability & Public Liability cover, insurance to cover loss of damage to exhibits or other personal property. In addition the Exhibitor/Sponsor is required to show proof of their insurance liability in the event of damage to the venue. If an Exhibitor/Sponsor would like to take out insurance for its exhibition stand/equipment, he/she should contact their own insurer. The Rules & Regulations must be fully observed by exhibitors, their contractors and their personnel. The organizers reserve the right to demand changes to, or closure of, any stand that does not conform to these Rules & Regulations. If an exhibitor fails to comply with these rules and regulations, the organizers reserve the right to reclaim its exhibition space and resell it, and all monies paid by the exhibitor shall be forfeited. Once an exhibiting company has reserved exhibition space it agrees to abide by the payment conditions and cancellation policy.
