KEY SPEAKERS’ PROFILES Prof. Jason Furman Chairman of President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers; professor at Harvard University's Kennedy School; Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics Prof. Jason Furman was named by President Barack Obama as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA). The CEA Board consists of three mem- bers, who are outstanding and well-trained economists with tons of professional experience, and directly advise the president on key economic issues of the country. For eight years with President Obama, Prof. Jason Furman has played a major role in most of the Obama administration's economic policies. He has been involved in the 2009 US Government's economic support package, tax reform projects, and health insurance policies. Dr. Kazuo Yano Chief Engineer of Hitachi Group, AI pioneer and leader of Japan Dr. Kazuo Yano is a Chief Engineer, Hitachi, Ltd. He received his PhD from Waseda University, Japan in 1993. He is famous for the pioneering works in semiconductor field. In the 2000s, he pioneered the measurement and analysis of social big data, especially using wearable sensors. It was much earlier before the term “big data” was coined and his work has been honored as the pioneer by Harvard Business Review. He received many honorable prizes such as IEEE Paul Rappaport Award (1994), IEEE Lewis Winner Award (1998), IEEE Jack Raper (1998), Kujin Award from Hitachi Henjinkai (1995), MBE Erize Prize, the Best Paper Award of International Conference on Social Informatics 2012 Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan Co-founder and CEO of Boston Global Forum, Director of the Michael Dukakis Institute for Leadership and Innovation Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan is the founder and former Editor in Chief of VietNamNet. He pioneered many key trends in the development of the Internet infrastructure and the digital media industry in Vietnam. With his efforts for technology development and security in the world, he has developed and implemented many initiatives including Global Network Security Day, the BGF-G7 Summit, and the Code of Conduct for Network Safety & Security and AIWS Artificial Intelligence Society recently. Dr. Masahiro Fukuhara Founder and CEO, Institution for a Global Society (IGS) Masaru Fukuhara is the Founder and CEO of the Tokyo-based Institution for a Global Society (IGS), which was established in 2010 in Japan, specializing in the application of AI in human psychology and behavioral analysis. He is the developer of GROW360 - an application that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze evaluation data from both applicants and employers, thus greatly facilitating the talent recruitment, selection, and development. This is also the application chosen as the first case study of the Harvard Business School on the application of artificial intelligence into the field of personnel.
FOREWORD Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a new era in the global economy that creates profound and comprehensive transformations for economies and businesses around the world.
