It should be sufficient for them to take their antihistamine medication before they come to school and would help reduce disruptions to lessons. In addition, a consent form can be obtained from the Welfare Office for eye drops and/or nasal sprays to be taken during the school day. Water Especially now that the weather is changing for the better, it is important for students to keep themselves hydrated during the day. Therefore, students should be reminded to bring a bottle of water to school daily which can be filled up as necessary during their break or lunch time. Ms D Omard Administration Manager

Literacy Tip Of The Week Using Podcasts Podcasts can open up a range of different topics for children and young people and help reluctant or struggling readers with their learning. They give them access to discussions and information around topics which they may not have been able to comprehend as well in print. Podcasts can also be great for families to listen to together at home where parents may not be confident readers. Have a great week! Ms L Portelli Literacy Coordinator
CELEBRATING SUCCESS IN THE MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGE FACULTY The Spring term came with some challenges: remote learning took place during the first half and then all students came back to school eager to carry on with their learning. All MFL teachers were very pleased to see all students engaging well with their learning, either remotely or in class. Year 7 learnt about activities linked to technology and develop further ways of expressing opinions. Year 8 covered the topic of healthy living and discovered traditional dishes eaten in Francophone countries. Year 9 are covering the theme 3 of the GCSE around Education and Post-16 which encourage them to discuss their point of views on the uniform/rules and draw differences between English and French school. Year 10 have been working on the topic of work and future career plans, alongside strengthening their grammar knowledge. Year 11/12/13 are working hard to complete their all-important mini-assessments instead of final exams.
