Welcome O ne of EGR’s best characteristics is how lively and active our community is — especially in the summer. I hope you and your family members have had the chance to get out and enjoy our parks during Michigan’s wonderful summer months. I would also like to thank all those who participated in our Community Park, Recreation, Open Space and Greenway Master Plan survey and public workshops. By the end of the year, the department will submit this plan to the State which will allow us to apply for grants that may help improve and enhance our City parks. Your discussions and feedback not only gave us a robust portfolio to present, but got our gears turning for excellent opportunities as we continue to grow and build outdoor spaces for our community. Again, it is thanks to you we have high program participation rates, active parks and visitors from all over Kent County – and beyond. So here we are, yet again, in a new season ready for more activity. We look forward to seeing you on the playground and around town as the leaves turn.
