Mrs. Claus Disney on Paw Patrol Starwatch Meet and Greet Ice! Story Time Party! December 15th December 8th November 3rd November 7th STEWARTVILLESCHOOLPRODUCTION Hello, Dolly! is coming to the stage of Stewartville?s Performing Arts Center this November! Presented by Stewartville Schools, the musical follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi (widowed socialite, turned matchmaker). Her latest clients seeking assistance are the cantankerous "half-a-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder and a young artist named Ambrose, who is in love with Horace's niece, Ermengarde. Dolly's scheming soon involves Horace's employees as well as a New York hatmaker, as she tries to cover up her own secret romantic designs. In doing so she persuades his niece, his niece's intended, and Horace's two clerks to travel to New York City. Fun, laughter, great songs and spectacular dance numbers will fill the stage! Hello, Dolly! was first produced on Broadway in 1964, winning a record-tying Tony Awards, including Best Musical, a record held for 37 years. The show has become one of the most enduring musical theatre hits, with four Broadway revivals and international success. It was also made into the 1969 film Hello Dolly! which featured Barbara Streisand as Dolly. Bette Midler currently brings Dolly to life on Broadway. You won?t want to miss the opportunity to see which Stewartville young lady fills the shoes of Carol Channing, Streisand and Midler along with the rest of the fantastic cast!Performance dates and times are Friday and Saturday, November 16 & 17 at 7pm and Sunday, November 18 at 2pm. Tickets will be available in early November on www.stewartvilletickets.com or at the door before each performance. COMMUNITYEDUCATIONTHEATERNEWS The winner of our Community Education Theatre's Tom Barnard Award for 2018 is Lee Menz. Lee's time with us goes back to our production of Fiddler on the Roof in 2011, when she played "Hodel" across from future husband Anthony Menz, a previous award winner. Since that time, she has served the theatre in a wide variety of ways. In addition to numerous fine acting performances, she has also helped with our programs, our photography, parade planning, painted our sets, (and provided many of the paintings that have graced our walls) served as Assistant Director, as Stage Manager, and many other things. Her dedication and generosity have been an integral part of our success over the years! The Tom Barnard Award is given only once a year, and its purpose is to recognize "Outstanding Community Service". Candidates must have been been with us for at least five years to be considered, and are chosen by the pool of previous award winners. It is the only award we give out, and thus this is a very select group into which we welcome Lee! 2
