Exeter School of Art At Exeter School of Art we aim to inspire each individual, and support you in growing both personally and professionally as we prepare you for your next steps in the arts. Having already studied my A Levels and Diploma in Graphic Design at Exeter College, I was fully aware of how good the quality ofteaching is. Having lecturers be able to help progress my skillsweek in and week out is something I’ve rarely come across in myeducation. All lecturers have had experience in the field which I’m studying, so I learn a lot from them and get a closer grasp of whatthe industry is really like before I go into it myself. Being surrounded by people who are thinking in the same way as me and can relate to my interests has definitely been one of thebest parts about my courses. Having knowledgeable teachers andgreat facilities, such as darkrooms and large Learning Resource Centres, has meant my time at Exeter College has been full of new experiences and opportunities. Exeter College has helped me find who I am and what I want to doin the future. “I took stepping stones from Level 2 to Level 3 at Exeter College before starting my FdA. Studying on the FdA has been really good socially, because you meet lots of people who have similar goals to you and what you are trying to achieve. I have found that studying Film and TV is all about having a creative mindset - being able to visualise something and create it rather than having a technical understanding because you are not expected to pick up the technical knowledge straight away. I am constantly learning new skills and things about the studio, for example setting up microphones. It’s all about the small steps you take along the way. College has been really supportive with everything throughout my studies, I’ve had access to Learning Resource Centres, lots of equipment and financial support. The teachers all provide really good feedback and assistance when required as well.” James, Film and TV FdA Did you know? The BBC has opened a new studio in our Centre for Creative Industries, giving our creative students the chance for media masterclasses with genuine professionals in the industry. Business and IT The faculty of Business and IT is based in Victoria House on Queen Street. With a city centre location, the provision thrives on the links and interaction with the local business community, and allows students from near and far to engage in university level study that supports the region. I progressed on from A Levels at Exeter College to the HNC, then HND in Business and I'm now progressing on to the University of Exeter for the Top Up year - a BA in Business Studies. I chose to progress on to study the HNC at Exeter College because I was already used to the learning environment and I knew my way around the college. I'm excited about the future - I'm currently looking at Graduate Schemes and employers for next year. Ethan, Business HNC/HND 33 Check the website for further information: exe-coll.ac.uk
