Cycle Arts Festival 2022 An Outdoor Arts, Cycling and Environmental Festival for Renfrewshire Provisional Dates 1st - 7th August 2022 Outdoor Event Producer Job Description Structure: 3.5 months part time freelance flexible basis Fees: Fee of £5000 at £17 per hr, 21 hrs per week for 14 weeks. Travel and other Expenses paid. Timescale: Mid May - mid August 2022 based with Place Partnership at OneRen Location: Working from home or any other location in Renfrewshire as required. Reporting to: Place Partnership Producer at OneRen. Place Partnership at OneRen are seeking an experienced Outdoor Event Producer to work on a part time flexible basis on the 2022 Cycle Arts Festival. The Cycle Arts Festival (1-7th August 2022) is an outdoor mixed arts Festival presented on Renfrewshire Cycle Routes. The developing programme already includes Outdoor Arts Commissions, outdoor art exhibitions and workshops, cycle awareness events, site-specific events, storytelling, music, environmental walks & lectures and children’s theatre. We are looking for an Outdoor Event Producer who is passionate about the environment, inspired by the link between cycling and creativity and has knowledge of mixed artform delivery. The post holder should be an experienced collaborator and partnership builder, interested in communities and local places and how to deliver accessible inspiring events for urban and rural audiences. Duties • Working with OneRen and the Cycle Arts Festival community partners to support the delivery of the programmed arts events and small periphery promotions on wellbeing, food promotions and ecological events. Including managing the steering group meetings and partners meetings face to face and virtually. • Working on the development of the Festival Marketing Plan including working with the website designer, to develop event branding and commissioning PR. This will include the preparation of the event brochure for print and website, ready for the launch deadline of 20th June 2022. • Working with partner organisations to market the event on the ground in the Renfrewshire Cycle Route areas including local posters and visible event profiling. • Working on event and commissioning contracts for the artists and booking programmed events. • Researching and negotiation for use of the selected Greenspace areas, securing written permissions/ agreements for each location from Renfrewshire Council, Sustrans and Private owners. • Linking Artists & events with OneRen Technical support, ensuring Artist and Cycle events prepare the required Risk Assessments and standard operating procedures including any COVID requirements during the Festival delivery period. • Supporting partner organisations to take part in the Festival including enabling routes for volunteers to take part / support the delivery of events at the Festival. • Assisting with the development of the Festival evaluation strategy including developing the methodology for gathering audience demographics and audience feedback on individual events. This will include gathering data during the delivery process and producing the event report to evaluate the success of the event. • Assisting with the Festival financial management as required including processing incoming invoices and spend monitoring. • Any other duties that may be required to support the successful delivery of the Cycle Arts Festival 2022. Background to the Role • Cycle Arts Festival Renfrewshire The Cycle Arts Festival is an outdoor mixed arts Festival presented on Renfrewshire Cycle Routes. Developed in partnership with local and national organisations the aim is to push boundaries of creativity in linking artists of mixed practice with Renfrewshire’s unique biodiversity, environments and the enjoyment of cycling. Using interesting buildings, vistas and unusual locations the Festival aims to deliver a narrative of place for Renfrewshire linking to ideas of environmental sustainability, wellbeing, embedded local cultures, history of place, cycling and social change. The first iteration of the Cycle Arts festival happened in between 23rd to 29th of August 2021 and despite COVID-19 restrictions featured a diverse programme including site- specific video installation, immersive theatre performance and choreographed BMX bike performance, guided walking theatre, outdoor craft workshops and sculpture /Visual arts pieces.
