INCOME TAX PREPARATION Thursdays and Fridays by appointment through April 14, 2022 IRS Certified AARP volunteer tax aides will prepare 2021 income tax returns for returning customers only, age 50+. This is a free service and returns will be filed electronically. If your income is above the low federal guidelines you will provide a list of tax preparers for your convenience. Call to make an appointment. Call March 4, for an April appointment. GIFT SHOP Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 10am - 1pm The gift shop sells hand crocheted, knitted items, baby blankets, sweaters, booties, scarves, jewelry and other unique items. Senior Services has an Information & Referral (I&R) Program that provides information on a wide variety of resources, from City, County, State, and Federal, to private companies that can assist you with specific needs. What is I&R: Community information and referral providers that connect people with resources that can help them. Who Uses I&R: Everyone can use and benefit from I&R throughout their lives. How I&R Works: Recreation Coordinator, Kris Garcia, maintains and updates resources, programs and services through various channels. If you or someone you know have questions or need referral assistance please contact KrisGarcia at 626.574.5138 or email at kgarcia@arcadiaca.gov. LIONS SIGHT PROGRAM AVAILABLE Senior Services in partnership with Arcadia Lions Club offers a certification for a cost-free eye exam, frames, and bifocal lenses. You must be 62 years or older, and have a yearly income below $29,000. Call Kris to schedule an appointment. WHAT IS HICAP? Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program provides free, confidential counseling, education, and assistance on Medicare, Long-Term Care insurance, other health insurance related issues, and planning ahead for Long-Term Care needs. Contact Kris Garcia for an appointment. NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICES: Notary Services with Marilyn Merlo will be available the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 10am to 12pm. Limited to three signatures or thirty minutes. Call to schedule an appointment. Wednesdays 10am to 2pm Stop by the Community Center Lobby and meet with Brock Milhorn. Brock can assist any Veteran and/or family members connect with services such as: mental health treatment, substance misuse support, healthcare access, and education.
