Announcements 11 I began utilizing the library about four years ago on a consistent basis. I had just lost my job and was eager to get another position as soon as possible, so I began going up to the library to use the Event registration computers. After some time, I became quite acquainted with the staff in Adult Services. I asked them to look over my resume to see info - please read! how I could tweak it. Adult Programs Irish Fiddler Saturday, March 19 • 11am • R Irish jigs, fiddle airs, dancing reels! Join Old Town School of Folk Music's Teen String Band for a joyful party of Irish folk music. Led by long-time Recurring Programs teaching artists Anna Jacobson and Jonas Friddle, this band of young, talented musicians never ceases to leave a trail of delight wherever they Gentle Flow Yoga play. Holiday Crafts As a community, we celebrate many different holidays amongst our community members. We can gain a shared appreciation for the holidays celebrated in our community by learning about the different holidays that our neighbors cele- brate. If we have missed an important holiday, please visit the Youth Services department to let us know. The more we learn, the more we grow! Pick up a special themed craft bag with information and activi- ties for each holiday on the Monday of the week of the holi- day to take home. Teen Programs Project Next Generation: Nintendo Switch Club Thursdays, March 3-April 7 • 4-4:45pm • R Ages 10-17 Try out this new mixed reality racing game! Build a physical racetrack and play along on screen. Project Next Generation: Lego Engineering Club Thursdays, April 14-May 19 • 4-4:45pm • R Ages 10-17 Build various simple machines, interactive video games, and Lego creations that move. Funding for Project Next Generation is provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Sec- retary of State/Illinois State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). Battle of the Books Interactive Reading Experience Students in grades 4th-8th grade can checkout the 2022 Battle of the Books and receive a bag full of presents that go along with each of the forty books. Open the presents as you read the book for an Interactive Reading Experience. The battle books and present bags are available at the public library and your school library. More information about the 2022 Battle of the Books will be available as we get closer to the month of May. Volunteens! Volunteen hours continue this March. Visit the library to sign up for a 1 hour time slot once a week. During your Volunteen time, you will be making birthday cards for the community. Vol- unteen sign-up is ongoing.
