Competition Rules - General: General Rules: • Audio SP reserves the right of admission at all their organised events and the judges/ judging panel’s decision is final. • Competitors need to fill out an entry form (supplied by Audio SP). No vehicle will be allowed to enter any of the events without the afore mentioned documentation. • Competitors will only be allowed to enter one Audio format. Multiple classes will not be accepted. • Full disclosure of vehicle audio components (number of amplifiers, numbers of speakers, number of batteries) to be disclosed on entry form. The judge’s decision is final – should a competitor be caught as being untruthful in full disclosure or caught cheating, the judge reserves the right to disqualify the competitor. • All competitors should have a roadworthy vehicle and should be able to enter the judging platform under the vehicles own power. • Competitors are not allowed to test their vehicle from inside the said vehicle, if the vehicle has a reading in excess of 150db’s • All competitors testing their vehicles from inside the vehicle cockpit must wear hearing protection when testing their vehicles (if in excess of 150db). • The vehicle doors and windows must remain in a closed position (SPL testing) until testing is complete and the SPL meter controller has illustrated that the vehicle run has come to an end. Should this rule be disregarded the run will be disqualified. • All vehicle windows to be in “as close to” factory condition. Vehicles with cracked windscreens will not be allowed to compete. This is purely for safety compliance. • Vehicles are to have their handbrake up, gear in neutral or P (park) position during their run. • Vehicles are limited to 2000 rpm during the run. • The judge can at his/her discretion check vehicle voltage supplied to amplifiers by means of a volt meter to ensure that specific class rules are being adhered to. • Judges will inspect vehicle to confirm that the number of woofers, amplifiers and batteries are in accordance to information supplied on the entry form. • Competitors, are allowed to use commercially available music on a CD / USB / Mobile Device for their run. CD can be supplied by Audio SP at the request of a competitor. No frequency generating devices or tracks will be permitted for this format. • SPL sensors/ Mic’s will be placed into a competitors vehicle by an appointed Audio SP member. • The judges decision is final and no vehicle will be allowed to run after the official cut off time announced by Audio SP. No refunds will be entertained if a competitor has not completed their run before the official cut of time. Safety & Risk Management • No weapons will be allowed at any Audio SP event. Only on duty law enforcement officials will be allowed to carry weapons. Unauthorised persons found with weapons of any sort, will immediately be escorted off the premises by our security personnel. Random searches are at the discretion of the onsite security. Failure to comply, will result in rejection of your admission.
• Safety and Risk – Whilst all precautions will be taken by Audio SP and affiliate members, to ensure the safety and security of all competitors and spectators, Audio SP and its affiliate members will not be held Liable for damages, loss or injuries of any kind. • Disputes – Should a competitor feel that there has been unfair practice by a competitor, they should raise this immediately with the judge and a managing member of the Audio SP Team. This dispute will be addressed accordingly, and corrective action will be taken. Substantial evidence should be provided as part of the dispute. • Alcohol and substance abuse – Whilst the event organisers understand that these events provide a platform for the consumption of alcohol, Audio SP frowns against over consumption at their events. Audio SP and affiliate members will not be liable for competitors and spectators leaving the event and driving after the event under the influence of alcohol. No illegal substances will be allowed onto any of Audio SP and affiliate members event premises. Individuals that ignore this condition will be asked to leave the event immediately. • Violence – Audio SP and Affiliate members will not tolerate violence of any kind. Individuals that do not comply will be asked to leave the event or escorted out by Security should the need arise. This a family environment and we will ensure strict measures are in place to curb all violent activities. • Unsafe behaviour – drivers will not be allowed to over rev, spin vehicles, drag race vehicles in and around the vicinity of the event, spectators or anywhere near the events locations. Law enforcement will be alerted, and vehicle particulars will be presented accordingly. • Competitors are not allowed to test their vehicle from inside the said vehicle if the vehicle has a reading in excess of 150db’s • All competitors testing their vehicles from inside the vehicle cockpit must wear hearing protection when testing their vehicles (if in excess of 150db). • All minor children attending event must always be supervised by an adult and safety thereof is the responsibility of the parent/gauradian/adult. King & Queen of Bass Classes and Formats: National Competition Rules Class parameters: Stock alternators Stock battery (1 x battery for total system in OEM location) Battery maximum of 100 Amps Stock Voltage (Max 14V) 1 x Amplifier power to a maximum of 2000 RMS – Amplifier will be clamped. Port limitation – 4 inches (Maximum of 2 x 4-inch ports allowed) Stock interior – no modified consoles All equipment limited to boot OEM area No cut outs or walled vehicles allowed. In case of single cab bakkies, woofer(s) to be behind seat, with seats being able to lock in OEM position. In case of double cab bakkies, woofer(s) to be behind rear seats, with seats being able to lock in OEM position. All seats to be in standard & locked position Rear parcel shelf to be in stock position No Mini’s of any variation allowed Sedans and hatch vehicles allowed –must be South African manufactured vehicles No vehicles with cut-outs No External ports allowed (port that extends beyond the face of the woofer) No shielding of the sensor. System to be complete with fuse isolator from main power source. Woofer enclosure not permitted to be higher than the rear window line. Proof of equipment purchase to be readily available should this be requested by the head judge. Maximum of 1 run of 4 Gauge wiring from stock battery to amplifiers. Vehicle to have been self-built. No sound shop builds will be allowed. No sound affiliation assistance or backing permitted.
