WPA World Championships Juniors, Girls & Wheelchairs 2012 2 General Information’s The official website of the event is www.wpapoolonline.com with all of the information for the event. We activated all players and therefore it is possible for your players to Website update their profile via the website. Please ask your players to update their profile when needed. During the event the normal services will be provided, like live scoring system, flowcharts, player information and news items. At this event we also want to offer a live stream coverage of as much Live stream tables as possible. Live stream is offered via the website www.kozoom.com. Opening night Opening ceremony will be held at 04.12.2012 with a start at 20.00h. The closing party will be held at the last day of the World Closing Banquet Championships 07.12.2012. Because of the fact that some nations needs visa, it is absolutely necessary to keep the deadline for sending back all forms. We ask Visa you kindly to inform us by yourselves whether you need visa, which documents are necessary and to send us the applications a.s.a.p. The practice will be organised on the arrival day to the event. The Practice session schedule will be given to all the teams at the accreditation desk. The “three point rule” is Racking used (only for Juniors & Girls division) Breaking Alternate breaks On each day of the event, if possible, players will be called out 20 minutes before scheduled time, and 30 minutes before first round. All extra practice Practice time sessions will be announced at the event. All players must be in the venue 30 minutes prior to scheduled time. WPA World Championships Juniors, Girls & Wheelchairs 2012 4 Tournament Information’s One 5 minutes Time-out for each player is allowed during a match. Time-out can be only taken during re-racking. The player not using the Time-out must sit in at his/her chair. If both players leave at the same time, they both have used their right for a Time-out. Before using the Time- out player must inform the referee about it. Time out Time out penalties are used for: smoking, alcohol drinking; late return from time- out; using time out more than once in same match or practicing during a time-out. Penalties are: One frame is awarded to the opponent (current or next frame). Second violation of this rule is a loss of match Each player’s attire must always meet the level of the competition and be clean, proper and in good condition. If an athlete is unsure about the legality of his attire, the athlete should approach the tournament director before the match and ask whether the attire is legal. The tournament director has the final say with regards to the legality of attire. In exceptional circumstances, the director may permit a player to compete in violation of the dress code e.g. when airline luggage has been misplaced. A player may be disqualified for dress code violation. Men may wear a regular collared shirt or polo shirt of any color. Shirt or polo shirt must be tucked in. It must be in a good condition and clean. No T-shirts are allowed. The shirt must have at least a short sleeve. Dress pants will be clean and in good condition and may be of any color. Denim/blue Dress code jeans of any color are forbidden even though a jeans design is allowed. Shoes must be elegant dress shoes that fit in the outfit. Sneakers and sandals are not allowed. Sports shoes with a dark top of leather or leather-like material are allowed but are subject to the tournament director’s discretion. Women may wear a shirt, an elegant top, a dress, a blouse or a polo shirt. T-shirts are not permitted. Dress pants will be clean and in good condition and may be of any color. Denim/blue jeans of any color are forbidden even though a jeans design is allowed. Female athletes may wear a skirt which must cover the knees. Shoes must be elegant dress shoes that fit in the outfit. Sneakers and sandals are not allowed. Sports shoes with a dark top of leather or leather-like material are allowed but are subject to the tournament director’s discretion. In order to better control the schedule of an event each match can be given a certain time limit. Should after 50% of the announced duration of a match less than 50% of the points has been scored, a shot clock can be implemented, which is under the TL discretion After enforcing the shot clock the time for each shot is 35 seconds, with a warning Shot clock after 25 seconds. Each athlete will be allowed one 25-second extension during each rack. The shot clock will be started when all balls come to rest, including spinning balls. The shot clock will end when the cue tip strikes the cue ball to initiate a stroke or the when athlete’s time expires from the shot clock. WPA World Championships Juniors, Girls & Wheelchairs 2012 5 Tournament Information’s Magic Ball Rack Usage The Magic Ball Rack can be used for the disciplines: 8-ball, 9-ball and 10- ball. In 14/1 it´s not allowed to use the Magic Ball Rack. Positioning of the Magic Ball Rack The table must be marked before the tournament has started. A Vertical line must be drawn for the positioning of the Magic ball rack. This line must be long enough to pass through the top and bottom holes on the magic ball rack. Removing of the Magic Ball Rack After the break, the Magic Ball Rack must be removed by the referee from the table as soon as possible without disturbing any of the balls. If a referee is not present and there are balls obstructing the removal of the Magic ball rack, the opponent must be the one to remove the Magic Ball Rack. If there are no obstructions, the player at the table may remove the magic ball rack without the opponent interfering. Magic Ball Rack Rulling With or without a referee present, the magic ball rack can only be removed if not more than 2 balls are an obstruction in its removal. Exception to this rule applies if 1 or more balls are frozen and obstructing the removal, in this case the magic ball rack stays in place untill such time that the frozen balls are no longer an obstical in the removal of the magic ball rack. With the removal of the magic ball rack, the referee or opponent may use markers in the form of ball markers or chalk blocks which are at their disposal to mark the obstructing balls. The Magic ball rack must be placed in its required spot away from the playing area including the rails and the balls placed back into their original position. Fouls involving the Magic Ball Rack Once the Magic ball rack is removed from the playing surface, it can not interfere with the game i.e. It will be considered a foul shot if the template is lying on the rail and a ball (Cue or object ball touches the template that is lying on the rail). It is permitted for a athlete to receive advice from a coach during a time out. It is up to the referee and tournament management to set additional limits on this. Coaching The coach should not approach the table. If the referee decides that the coach is interfering with or disrupting the match, he may direct the coach to stay away from the match. Juniors and Girls are under the supervision of the organiser. The organiser has Additional rules decided that it is not allowed for athletes to consume alcohol during the event. Any athlete caught consuming alcohol will be sent home immediately. There have been additional changes in sports regulations regarding World Additional Championships.
