OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE
Steiermärkische Verwaltungssparkasse is the majority
owner, at 73.5 %, of Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen
AG and its corporate purpose is primarily to hold the equity
investment in the latter.
Erste Bank der österreichischen Sparkassen AG (Erste
Bank Österreich) has held an equity investment of 25 % and
one share in Steiermärkische Sparkasse since 2000. As a
consequence of which, branches in Graz, Murau,
Schladming and Mariazell moved to Steiermärkische
Sparkasse.
The employee participation currently stands at just under
1.5 % and is the number of shares held by employees of
Steiermärkische Sparkasse.

is a contractual group pursuant to the Austrian Stock Corporation Act (AktG).

SAVINGS BANKS JOINT LIABILITY
SCHEME
For years, Erste Bank and savings banks have formed a community to protect their customers’
savings deposits – known as the savings banks Joint Liability Scheme.
The joint liability scheme
sees itself as an association of regionally based savings banks operating independently.
in addition to the statutory deposit protection of up to EUR 100,000 is an additional safety
net from Erste Bank and savings banks and consequently offers maximum security for all
customers.
