FINANCIAL OVERVIEW United Way of Larimer County leads philanthropy in our community, ensuring that gifts of time, talent and treasure address today’s greatest needs - and reduce tomorrow’s. During the most recent fiscal year, 2019-2020, nearly $4.5M was infused into the community through donor designations, grants, nonprofit trainings, facilitation, and partnership building with nonprofits, local governments, and many businesses. INVESTMENT DISTRIBUTION DONOR DESIGNATIONS: $1,216,908 UWLC catalyzes thousands of donations to local partner agencies and other eligible nonprofit organizations by offering donors an easy way to give and create impact in their communities. We are conveners, facilitators, trainers, advocates, and the thread of our philathropic quilt.
COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT OVERVIEW United Way of Larimer County is committed to understanding and addressing the root causes of social and economic inequity across our community through education, financial stability, and essential human needs. When we come together, we can ensure our community’s resilience for generations to come. 40 $743,897 AGENCIES 440 children received child care scholarships for the following child care centers: • Respite Care • Crossroads Ministry • CSU Early Childhood Center • Thompson Valley Preschool • The Family Center/La Familia • Teaching Tree Early Childhood Learning Center • Estes Valley Investment in Childhood Success (EVICS) $260,000+ WOMENGIVE CHILD CARE SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTANCE Supporting single women returning to college with quality child care – so both child and mom achieve more in life. 536 youth participated in mentoring programs aimed at increasing positive behavior at home and school • 92% finished the year long programs through: o CSU Campus Connections o Partners Mentoring Youth
COLORADO READING CORPS LITERACY TUTORS • 360 1st-3rd grade students in Thompson School District and Estes Park School District • 75% of students achieving reading goals HOUSE OF NEIGHBORLY SERVICES • 6,063 clients • 90% received assistance and moved from crisis to household stabilization NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR • 2,824 households received rent assistance, 600% more than 2018-2019 • 98% of households who received assistance remained in stable housing a year later GREENPATH • 506 participants in debt management advising • $1.4 million of debt repayment through debt management plans $1.2M IN DONOR DESIGNATIONS TO HUNDREDS OF NONPROFITS
INNOVATION GRANT OVERVIEW During the 2019-2020 fiscal year, six nonprofit agencies received a total of $75,500 in Innovation Grants for time sensitive, novel programs that are moving the needle on human services in our community. Our Community Impact team works alongside applicants to ensure their project is creating an end result that is high impact. SPROUTIN’ UP $10,000 to build a learning garden and develop business skills for low income teens in Fort Collins. 60% of the interns gained employment. They provided 20 weeks of free produce to 10 families in need. DREAMER’S FUND $17,500, funded legal fees, housing assistance, and outreach support for 15 undocumented students across Larimer County ESTES VALLEY INVESTMENT IN CHILDHOOD SUCCESS (EVICS) $10,000 to expand child care in Estes Park by starting a home child care provider cohort with training, mentorship, and start-up costs The above programs are just a snapshot – talk to us more about our support of one on one literacy tutoring through the Colorado Reading Corps program in the Estes Park and Thompson school districts, new projects through WomenGive, and Nonprofit Excellence grants and trainings.
COVID-19 RESPONSE OVERVIEW The COVID-19 coronavirus stunned the world and took its toll on every individual and organization, including our community’s nonprofits. To help respond to this unprecedented challenge, United Way of Larimer County partnered with the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado to provide swift, nimble funding to local nonprofit organizations that work with people disproportionately affected by the consequences of COVID-19. Thank you, donors! IN COLLABORATION WITH UWLC distributed $336,635 of $1,272,997 in FY19-20 $1,272,997 DISTRIBUTED TO TOP 3 AREAS OF NEED 1. Access to food 61 AGENCIES 2. Emergency shelter & rent assistance 3. Childcare THROUGH scholarships 82 GRANTS INVISIBLE SUPERHERO SOCIAL During a time of increased social distancing, our community has never been closer. Thanks to our generous & caring community members and business partners, we raised $87,500 during our event to support long-term recovery efforts in Larimer County!
COVID-19 RESPONSE OVERVIEW Community members gave back big time during our spring COVID-19 donation drive!
