Sixth Form Weekly Notes – Monday 22nd March 2021 Week 2 Key messages for students: Good luck Yr13 and remember these assessments are only part of the evidence that will be used. Most of you are in the sports hall for your exams but please check your emails for details and arrive at 0820 and 1250 so you are not in a rush. • Eat some breakfast before your exams! • Remember to get outside and have some down time between assessments. • PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR NAMES ON YOUR PAPERS – JUST YOUR CODE. This will help us to ensure fairness when marking and moderating work. Please check and read your emails carefully, especially about lateral flow testing at home - you should be testing at home before you come in on Monday and again on Thursday (or the evening before before you go to bed). Please do not congregate in groups in Old Hardenhuish Lane (or anywhere else). Covid regulations state that you should only be with one other person and you could get fined. Some of our neighbours are reporting this to the police. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key dates: • w/b 22nd - Yr13 assessment week • Tues 23rd - Yr12 LIVE - assembly Tues afternoon tutor time – ASK apprenticeships • Tues 23rd and Weds 24th – UCAS Discovery Days with lots of sessions about uni, apprenticeships etc – see link below • Tues 30th lesson 5 or 6 to be confirmed - Yr12 – University of Bath – introduction to university – what to consider and how to get started --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tutor time activities: If/when you use the racism and identity video below or the ppt/assembly shared last week you may also want to consider/pre-empt this discussion: https://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/philosophy/black-lives-matter-essay-why-is-saying-all-lives- matter-wrong https://www.bustle.com/articles/171457-how-to-argue-against-saying-all-lives-matter-because- this-has-got-to-stop

The 99: “But… what about us? Don’t we matter?” Of course, the 99 still matter, but they’re not the ones in danger. The one is.
