“Montecatini Interactive Medicine International (MIMI)-V”
                                                  is the continuation of the MIMI I-IV meetings previously
                                                  organized in Montecatini Terme (PT, Italy) every two years
                                                  from 2005 to 2011. MIMI-5 will maintain its classic format, as
                                                  it was in Andrew K Burroughs’ original genial intuition of an
                                                  interactive update meeting for young trainee doctors based
                                                  on the strong collaboration between our Gastroenterology
                                                  Unit in Italy and the UCL Institute for Liver and Digestive
                                                  Health (Royal Free Hospital, London, UK) headed by Prof.
                                                  Massimo Pinzani. It is a fortunate coincidence that 2019

                                                  celebrates AIGO (Associazione Italiana Gastroenterologi ed
                                                  Endoscopisti Ospedalieri) 50th anniversary, and we are very

                                                  by the AIGO-50 States-General, with the attendance of all

                                                  The meeting will be patient-based. Achieving good patient
                                                  compliance and his/her full involvement in decision-making
  & HEPATOLOGY                                    is essential to integrate the aims of developing new clinical
                                                  pathways and of enhancing the patient/doctor collaboration,
                                                  evolving towards a new concept of “Value-Based Medicine”.
                                                  With this mentality, a series of clinical cases will be discussed
                                                  by a panel with the active participation of the audience.
                                                  There will be also some lectures from international experts
                                                  on topical subjects in gastroenterology and hepatology in
                                                  addition to the cases, and some face-to-face sessions which
                                                  will complement the general philosophy of the meeting. We
                                                  are extremely happy to welcome you all again in Montecatini
                                                  Terme.
