Click fraud software is used for detecting and/or protecting against
fraudulent clicks in pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. It's also a very
effective tool for helping online advertisers with the daunting task of
detecting both manual and automated efforts aimed at inflating their
ad click numbers.
So, why would anybody commit click fraud anyway? People commit
click fraud for two basic reasons. The first is for unfairly reducing
competition among advertisers and the second is for generating
more revenue by playing the PPC ad system. For example, one
advertiser could commit click fraud for the express purpose of using
up another advertiser's ad space and budget on worthless clicks,
which leaves the first advertiser in the singular position of being able
to hurt the competitor.
