“That Night Obedience” – Matthew 2:13-14
December 25, 2022
Our Christmas Day Scripture
Matthew 2:1-15
Matthew 2:13-14 (NLT) – After the wise men were gone, an
angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!
Flee to Egypt with the Child and His mother,” the angel said.
“Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going
to search for the Child to kill Him.” That night Joseph left for
Egypt with the Child and Mary, His mother...
“That Night” Obedience
Joseph’s obedience was immediate: “that night” (v.14). He
did not wait until the next morning. He woke up his wife and
Child and started traveling to Egypt that night. Joseph took
God’s Word seriously and his obedience was prompt.
