Christmas Charity Campaigns Due to Covid-19, there aren’t as many Christmas volunteering opportunities as in previous years but you can still share your festive spirit by contributing to the campaigns below. ADIRA We are incredibly proud to be able to deliver a hamper to those in need this Christmas. It is full of great ingredients (including fresh seasonings packaged separately) needed to create the perfect Christmas lunch. The hamper is generous enough to feed between 6-8 people. Hampers will be delivered a few days before Christmas so that the frozen turkeys can comfortably defrost. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following: – Putting together food hamper boxes – Collecting food donations from supermarkets – Sorting food and packing food hampers – Handwriting Christmas cards – Stock checking – Delivering food hampers – Taking photos/video clips for the Adira website Apply to volunteer by completing the online form on our website: https://www.adira.org.uk/christmas-dinner-hampers/ Burngreave foodbank We're getting ready for Christmas and would love to receive donations of festive treats. The pic shows items we found in the shops to give you some ideas. Please try to check the best before date on items is after 25th Dec (you'd be surprised what you can buy that isn't) Drop any donations off at the foodbank building 10:30- 5pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday. If coming by car you will find it easier to park at the back of the building on Spital Lane. HARC (Homeless and Rootless at Christmas) To make this year's project as safe as possible for our guests and volunteers, we will operate very differently, and in line with the way other similar projects such as the Cathedral Archer Project and the Sunday Centre are operating. Guests will be able to obtain a takeaway breakfast and/or lunch, and will only be able to access the project for timed slots for housing/medical advice, showers/toilet, and a very limited number of tables will be available for guests to eat inside the project, again for a limited amount of time. Because of these restrictions, we will only need a small number of volunteers this year, our volunteer rota is now full. Also, please note that we are unable to have a clothing store this year, so won't be having a clothing collection. However, there are lots of ways that people will be able to help - especially through fundraising. If you want to find out more about how you can help, please get in touch by emailing: harc.sheffield@virgin.net Roundabout This Christmas you can make a huge difference to our young people with one of our simple festive fundraising ideas. Whether you donate a £5 gift card to make sure every young person we support has a present to open, or make a donation which could support our team working with our young people over the Christmas period, you’ll be helping to make Christmas a special occasion for vulnerable young people we support. Find out more here: https://www.roundabouthomeless.org/support-us/christmas/ SCCCC The tradition of paper advent calendars stem from Victorian times with chocolate calendars appearing in the 1970's. Now you can get advent calendars containing gin, beers and even make up. We thought this Christmas we would give you the chance to give and not receive for advent 2020. It's called the Reverse Advent Calendar. It's simple, each day of advent put an item of food into a box and at the end you will have a hamper of essential items that we can pass onto an older person who may need extra support this winter. It's not for Christmas, it's for 2021. It will enable us to offer those food parcels throughout winter, so plea se check the sell by dates. Once you have completed your hamper telephone 0114 2505293 to arrange a time to drop it off to our office: SCCCC, Unit 19 President Buildings, Savile Street East, SHEFFIELD, S4 7UQ. We are sorry we are unable to offer collection. Please see the complete list on the following page. www.sheffieldvolunteercentre.rg.uk

Snowdrop project Thank you for your support throughout 2020. It has been a tough year for everyone. Despite its many challenges and heartbreaks, we have seen real moments of hope, growth and resilience amongst the survivors of trafficking Snowdrop supports. Families have been reunited from overseas, women have moved into their first ever homes they can call their own and clients have finally received the stability of refugee status after years of waiting. We would love your support as we head into 2021 – your generous contributions can create more moments of hope for survivors in the year ahead. Thank you. Donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/SnowdropChristmas2020 S6 Foodbank Our current priority is cash donations to enable us to buy items we need in bulk to continue to support our growing numbers of guests. If you are able to support us, you can donate via Just Giving: https://www.justgiving.com/.../philadelphianet.../s6foodbank Or to set up a monthly donation, please visit our website and download a direct debit form: https://sheffields6.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-money/ Hallam FM Cash for Kids 2020 has changed everything. As families unexpectedly face poverty, more and more children could be waking up on Christmas Day without anything under the tree. You can help them by donating to our appeal. Donations can be made online, or from the 16th November you can donate a new and unwrapped gift at drop-off points across our area. These will be essential retailers who can continue to operate safely within the current lockdown restrictions, and we'll display them on a map on this page from the 16th November: https://planetradio.co.uk/hallam/charity/events/mission-christmas-south-yorks/
