CANTEEN NEWS Update your child/ren’s new class details on Qkr Every year families need to go into Qkr and update the class that their child/ren are now in so that their lunch orders are delivered to their new classroom/s This information is not automatically updated in Qkr unfortunately. If the information is not updated to reflect new classrooms, this means the lunch orders will be sent to their previous class. If families could update this information as soon as possible. When logging into Qkr for the first time in 2020, you will be reminded and prompted to do this. Canteen open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays We are currently trialling the canteen being open 3 days a week in Term 1. We encourage families to order lunches on other days including Mondays. The viability of our canteen and opening on an additional day relies on families utilising the service on offer. Prices of our products are very reasonable. Children have access to a wide variety of options including healthy options. Qkr allows you to put orders in ahead of time for ease of planning. Food is prepared fresh on the day of ordering. All feedback is welcome. Changes to menu 2020 A small number of items will no longer be available on the canteen menu in 2020. These include hot dogs, Glee drinks, traveller meat pies, potato top pies and chicken JJs . The reasons for these changes are related either to the continued implementation of our healthy eating program, or low interest in purchasing the items. There are many other menu items available to choose from. Price increases to some products in 2020 There will be a small increase in the price of sushi rolls, hot chicken rolls and sandwiches. Please see Qkr for exact details. We have kept the price increases to a minimum. It is important that the canteen covers it’s operating costs. From time to time prices of products and ingredients will be reviewed. Pasta not available next week We are awaiting a delivery of pasta. Unfortunately it will not be available next week. We hope to have it available again the following week. Canteen volunteers for 2020 Volunteers are once again required in the canteen for 2020. The days of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. To volunteer in the canteen you need a current Working with Children Check. Volunteers receive training and tasks are not complex. We ask all families to consider volunteering in the canteen at least once a term. The students really appreciate having the canteen open. Please support our Canteen Manager Rebecca Morgan by volunteering. Rebecca can be contacted by email at Morgan.Rebecca.R@edumail.vic.gov.au CANTEEN Mon 10th Wed 12th Frid 14th ROSTER Feb Feb Feb Thank you 2 volunteers 2 volunteers 2 volunteers Canteen 9am- 11:30am required required required Volunteers! 2 volunteers 2 volunteers 2 volunteers 12:00—2:30pm required required required

SCHOOLPIX will be here on Tuesday 3rd March to take our school photos! Individual order forms will be sent home in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! Sun smart The Anti-Cancer council have recommendations regarding the UV rating for each day. If the UV rating is 3 or above, people need to follow the Sun smart guidelines including: Wearing a broad brimmed hat Wearing sunglasses Applying and reapplying sunscreen throughout the day Please encourage your child to apply sunscreen before coming to school. If you would like your child to reapply the sunscreen during the day, please send a named tube and your child can reapply this throughout the day. Please teach your child to do this independently. It is extremely important to put in place measures to support our children. There is a Sun smart app which families can download as a learning experience with their children to demonstrate it doesn’t have to be a sunny day to have a UV rating of 3 or higher.
